All the filtering on this was done with the QMMF-4. I've found it to be a very flexible and musical filter. The layers in the tracks went through a few passes of the QMMF-4 modulated primarily by the Modcan Quad LFO.

Agree with the comments that the second FM CV input is a nice to have, not a "must." Mixers aren't hard to come by. And it makes up for this by shipping with a VCA.

I keep my levels at around 12 o'clock and so rarely have this issue.

I think the Modcan is just honestly displaying the clip behavior. Don't see this as a fault of the module.

The Optomix acts as a VCA as well. So for the top row, given you have a VCA on the Ripples and the Opto, I think you're set. Order away.
