Hey resynthesize!

Thanks for the advice. I'll try sticking it in a different case. I just don't get why it would start happening all of a sudden if the case was the issue/what the white noise is about.

Really appreciate the response. I'll contact Ken asap.

Macbeth Filter Issue -- help!!!

Hey guys, I was setting up a patch using my beloved Macbeth Dual SV Filter today and I noticed that without anything running through it, there's a sustained high squealing pitch coming out of the the left filter and white noise coming through both  -- the noise is pre-filter, allowing me to swe...

I have the phaser and it's really awesome. I could probably cook up a little demo later if you're interested in that one.

Hey guys, Thank you for all of the responses, and my apologies if I wasn't clear in describing the bug. Candle -- that indeed sounds like the same issue I've been having (or at least part of it). Just as the post describes, there's a faint click/blip when I plug in an external clock. Oddly, it's not...

So I've been troubleshooting a bit and it definitely seems to be a power supply issue -- when I start up the module, I can hear soft pulses that match the tempo of the module that I'm using to ping it. Oddly enough, these audible pulses don't match the specific ping I'm feeding the DLD (a slow pulse...

Hey Brandon! Thanks for the reply. Hmm...I hadn't thought of that. My case is 9U/120hp and is powered by 2x Mean Well RT-65b power supplies (each max out at 2.8A on the +12 rail, 1A on the -12). I've never had this sort of problem with them...I'm not much of a DIYer so don't really know how I would ...

4MS DLD Unwanted Blips

Hey guys, I have recently been messing around with the 4MS DLD and am really loving its functionality as a looper. Unfortunately, there's an issue that I can't seem to eliminate -- after a loop has been going for a little while (it seems to happen when I'm fiddling with the delay feed knob), it star...

Hey guys! I have been wiggling with my Varigate 8+ for a couple of weeks now, and I've been sort of hot/cold on it -- love the feature set (repeats!!!), not too keen on manually inputting CV sequences (the jumpy input stick are a PITA). Upon firing it up this morning, however, it appears to be funct...

Syncing Tempo to Drum Sample

Hey everyone! I am wondering if anyone has tips for how to sync modules to the tempo of a drum sample. To be more specific, I've been using a 4MS STS to play 5-6 second long drum samples. I want to use these as the foundation for rhythmic arrangements, but I can't figure out how to get other percuss...

Thanks for the reply, Cyber! Glad to have this clarified. I think this module might be a little more complex than I need -- have a feeling I might get lost in the digital elements. But glad I understand it a little more now. Cheers!

Mutamix X-MODE Question

Hey guys! I am considering getting a Mutamix to use as my main CV-mixer. I love the idea of having 3 busses to output from allowing me to combine my control signals as I please. It also appears to function as a switch, which is great to have if I ever need an additional one. What I'm wondering is wh...

I'm loving the Ditto! Simple and intuitive to learn, and offers a pretty long loop if you're trying to arrange an entire song.

I would recommend going for a used bass. Using Craigslist you can try a bunch out in person as well.

Another vote for the MF-104M. A great hidden feature is the gain knob -- you can really change the tone of an analog synth by heating up the signal using this feature. Even if I'm not using the delay, I often have the MF-104 on for this reason.

A pretty spendy solution, but I am achieving all manner of awesome gritty tones on my bass using a MF-101 Lowpass Filter and a MF-102 Ring Mod. Send the carrier from the RM into the filter input and you can get crazy filter-FM effects on top of your bass tone! Sounds especially awesome paired with s...

For what it's worth, one thing I really like about the Moogerfooger is the gain feature. Cranking it past 2 o'clock or so gives leads an incredible tube-like screaming quality and compliments the resonance of analog filters really nicely.

Why aren't all VCAs aren't created equal??

Hi guys, I've been trying to wrap my head around VCAs for a while now, and I'm pretty convinced of their awesome utility as far as complex modulation possibilities are concerned. I keep encountering people talking about the 'sound' of VCAs, however, and I am a little confused. I get how when using a...
