Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer
Hey guys Is anyone witnessing dropped notes when recording midi into a DAW via USB? I'm finding random notes are replaced by a very short note on the tail end of where the original note should have been - as if a particular midi note-on was dropped and the subsequent note-off was registered as a not...

TC M5000 Authorisation Codes, BIOS, PCMCIA Odyssey!
Hey guys I have an M5000 with an ADA and 3x DSP cards installed. The backup battery died a while ago and it now requests an authorisation code on boot up. Without this it will only run in basic 1x DSP mode, which is a shame. I contacted musictribe who now support the TC stuff and they tried their co...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer
Hey, discussion of the sequencer aside- that was a really enjoyable track, nice work. Don't forget that you can embed soundcloud like so: [soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/mobith/soak-koh[/soundcloud] et voila: Thanks! Yep I know about the embed code, I'm using it in my signature - was trying to a...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer
I'm having no issues syncing via usb to reaper (macos), timing wise! Seems very solid. Loving my vector - wasn't expecting it to be so much fun for generating rhythm tracks, it's really good! Here's my first vector track: Two melodic parts and two drum parts: https://soundcloud.com/mobith/soak-koh F...

Re: IME Kermit Mk III alternatives? Cross modulating envelopes
Yeh it seems to stand out with the x-mod features - I think I'd better just order one and see what happens lol

IME Kermit Mk III alternatives? Cross modulating envelopes
Hey guys, I'm looking for a multi-envelope module that provides ways to set up interrelated envelopes with cross modulation etc. The cross-modulations could be amplitude inversion (i.e. the voltage of one output would control the amplitude of another output, inverted) or FM, where one output might c...

Re: Cloney VCS3 Clone Builders?
Does your Env self-cycle? The envelope was actually working fine all along - in my naivety I assumed the env out was also a CV output. It was only when I scoped the modulation input that I realised how it actually works  should have read the bloody manual! In my (weak) defence I have never us...

Re: Cloney VCS3 Clone Builders?
Hey guys I picked up a few more 2n5461's from Cricklewood from different manufacturers - alas I didnt have my transistor tester with me and they all measure about 1.3-1.5 Vgs compared to the supplied ones that were 1.2Vgs. The circuit diagram from Derek specifies "2.5 - 3.0V" which I assume is the s...

Re: Cloney VCS3 Clone Builders?
Thanks guys, I'll try to swing by Cricklewood this afternoon and grab some replacement FETs. PCBs are from Derek Revell. They're mk4. I have another set of unpopulated PCBs and the short on Y18/19 is not there so it really seems to be the connector somehow. These connectors are male and quite simple...

Re: Cloney VCS3 Clone Builders?
Re components - all the components are part of the Cloney kits - I have no knowledge of their origin or whether they tested in spec - I think I'll just order some more and see whether it fixes things. The filter problem I hadn't really dug into other than measuring the 12V on the output. When I meas...

Re: Cloney VCS3 Clone Builders?
1. You shouldn't see a DC level at the output of the filter as it's AC coupled. 2. Are you seeing charge/discharge of C48? Hey cnicht, thanks for the reply! 1) Filter: Hmn. The output cap C39 was bad and was a short, however I dont think this was the root cause and had got damaged. Replacing it wit...

Re: Cloney VCS3 Clone Builders?
Hey guys I have a pair of cloney builds on the go and I've run into two issues on the Y board 1) The filter is latched to 12V 2) The envelope is 0V on the output, however the trapezoid and all controls are working correctly. Scoping the circuit board seems to point towards the FETs and I've heard th...

Re: Yamaha CS70M Keyboard - the way in?
Ok for the record! There are 4x hex head bolts - two on each side of the base - that look like they may be holding the keybed in place but are actually holding the end cheek uppers in place. Unscrew those (and no other screws) and bob is your uncle. Thanks to Kent (KSR) for the advice :guinness: :gu...

Yamaha CS70M Keyboard - the way in?
Hey guys
I have a CS70 I need to open up and I'm wondering how you do it. Removed the obvious screws along the outer edges of the hinged upper panel but no joy. Trying not to undo more screws than necessary!
Cheers

Befaco VCMC DIY - boot issues
Hey guys anyone out there built a VCMC yet? I put mine together a couple of weeks ago but had some issues. The first screen I got was a dud so that was replaced. The second screen only comes on about 50% of the time - it's pretty random whether or not it does. When it doesn't come on, the T3.2 still...
