Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C

can a buchla command c desktop be racked in a portable rack case? not to expand a bigger buchla system but just to be racked on its own? You can buy the 208c without the boat or unrack it and put it in another boat, but you need a Buchla boat, because the size and power/control connector is special...

final 4-panel 200e system recommendations

so since the 200h half modules are now available, if you were going to build a 200e 4-panel system (in a powered 4-panel boat), would you still incorporate any "h" modules? for example, would you go for: 259e, 266e, 281e, 292e 259e, 267e, 281e, 292e 259e, 261e, 267e, 281h, 292h these are just some s...

If DSI can do an internal power supply on a $2,500 desktop unit, I'd expect Moog to manage on a $7,000 machine The DSI analog synths use cheap Mean Well PT-65 switching PSU's. There are literally the cheapest, dirtiest off-the-shelf PSU's you can buy (about $12 in quantity). They post-regulate the ...

Roland boutique VP-03 vocoder / Standalone hardware vocoders

Does the new Roland boutique VP-03 vocoder work as a standalone vocoder without a keyboard needed simply a mic through it like the Electrix Warp Factory vocoder functions as a vocoder with just a mic through it with no keyboard for example

I used to have an original TVS and I still regret selling it. I couldn't justify buying another one these days though. But if it had to be a choice between a modern Model D or a modern TVS, I'd get the Oberheim. Did the obxa's use sem design filters? Yes and no. The 2 pole filter on the OB-Xa is a ...

Which one will have enough analog drift to sound endearingly vintage analog while still playing in tune? I'd pick the Mini just because I know I can get a billion sounds out of it. I had a Mini on loan for about a year once. It was the flipping Stratocaster of synths. So many sounds. So ergonomic. ...

Another which would you choose between. Which would you throw down the $3.5K for between the new Minimoog Model D and the Tom Oberheim TVP (Two Voice Pro) if you had to choose one?

Having owned and eventually sold the lpk25 for just this application, I would 2nd the qunexus. I don't have experience with it, but it seems a well thought out and versatile tool. I think the action on the lpk is bad enough that it will be nicer to get used to playing on expressive pads. Haven't us...
