Re: CZ-101 style bass with Plaits granular formant osc

Check out the Hertz Donut Mark III, it does some great phase distortion and FM stuff with continuous control, not incremental buttons. Not a clone of anything in particular but it will surely get you where you need to go (unison mode as well)

You assign the CV amounts by holding down the rotary encoder button and turning the controls you'd like to assign the channel's CV input to (the display will show the destination and amount while this is happening). You can assign cross modulations by holding down another channel's selection button ...

get some caveman one-shot drum samplers (modular OK) and a good trigger sequencer. IME will release the Bionic Lester and Malgorithm 3 this year which should solve most of the other related problems. Your rack as it is now is something I would have picked myself for this application.

the piston honda mk3 was designed by one of the world's foremost microwave 1/prophet VS superfans, with special attention given to the bits of character that can't be described with language. I had a NW1 for a while, but the formant/spectral processing removed all of the life-affirming content from ...

from my build notes: Card 6: Change R5 to 82K (scales keyboard CV in) Change R9 to 191K (offset) Card 7: Change R14 to 60K (scaling) Add a 2M resistor between molex pin 3 and -15V (more offset) When calibrated, this should give good 1.2v/oct scaling, and with the mod freq slider all the way UP and p...

Re: Stillson Hammer Mk2 in Moog case

js213 wrote:Anyone know for sure if the Stillson Hammer mk2 fits ok inside a Moog case? Based on the depth on Mod Grid and what Moog says for the inside, it should, by 5mm, but I was hoping to find some real world confirmation.

Thanks
It fits in there great.

So.... Any of you guys successfully imported your own wavetables? I'm struggling getting this to work. Factory files on a 16GB FAT32 SanDisk ultra sd import fine. Files (with 64 waves) from WaveEdit give a "File number H of 8" error message on loading... Renamed imported wav to 8.wav. Tried some fr...

yeah, of course. I'm referring to the coordinates 2:1:1 (X:Y:Z), which is visualized as a sawtooth on the module's display, and 3:1:1, which is visualized as a square. in my comparison I have waveform modulation CV turned off, morphing on all axes turned off, no unison, no fm, "orthodox" flavor, an...

Does anyone know the difference between version 1.0 firmware and 1.1 firmware? 1.1 fixes a small bug in the display (when both oscs are selected, 1.0 does not display the influence of the external CV on osc b's wave index display). It also adds a soft reboot command in the global menu. No need to u...

Try the Piston Honda Mk3, its sonic character is closer to the Prophet VS than any other module and fits 2 oscs into 17hp (built in unisons too).

To be fair, I'm definitely one of the people who prefer the bolted down metal shaft knobs so the second I got it home and out of the box I was kind of bummed. The two large tuning knobs are relatively stable, as stable as any on any older Make Noise module, but honestly, that push rotary encoder is...

The new Piston Honda mark III does nice/subtle very well (there's some understated classic/additive banks on there, but if it's not nice enough, just put some custom waves on it using the sd card interface).

Looks like fun, your system will be very rewarding if you put this same level of care into selecting your modulation sources. Wait for hertz donut mk3, (especially if you like Front 242). Make sure you have enough mixer to deal with all of this (just today there's some image leaked of an upcoming ro...

You can get some limited action out of the three above ideas with something like a Pressure Points/Brains combo combined with an A-148 and A-151, but you're still going to have to define at least one of the "sequences" as if you were programming a sequencer, as well as a sequence or carefully struct...

Really liking the idea of a morphing preset controller. Have used this sort of idea in software granular synthesis previously, and found storing multiple different sets of parameter states, then being able to navigate smoothly thru them, is a great way to go. Wish I could put 'em in cube, with my c...
