Built a Pacemaker for a client this week. Man it sounds AWESOME, made me realise I need to tweak some things in my xoxbox, which now sounds really tame in comparison. Maybe one day I'll treat myself to one of these bad boys. Excellent job, Guest. I haven't been round here much of late, are there any...

Hi kbo, like I wrote before I had a similar problem with the converter noise. Reactions to touch are quite the same, only "my" noise is different: lower in pitch and more whining. I didn't get to the source of the problem. Powering from linear PSU (by still using the converters though) or the switc...

@mattrick Thanks for the info. Time to wander down to the hardware store. As I'm in the US, I doubt I'm going to run across 10mm finish plywood, so I'll make some adjustments and go with 3/8".... Yeah we had to get it from a proper old school building supply store and it wasn't cheap, but we wanted...

Hey mattrick, that case looks awesome. I like the radius between the back box side panels and the top with the handle. What radius did you use for that, anyway? Also, I've seen a couple of different black tolex patterns...which one did you use? It looks a lot more like the original than others I've...

One of my new roadcase builds This looks excellent. When I think about the weight of the system, and how the cabinet joints are constructed, and how that weight is borne by the top handle, my conclusion is that the braces are needed for for long term survival of the case. I can't seem to find anyth...

1uf polyester cap. Thanks again :tu: Although im still not sure why it's written different to other 1uf caps on the PCB. Anyway, I need to check my parts bags, but at the moment, it's also looking like a BOM error with the V1 to V2 BOM because I don't appear to have these caps. I would have thought...

Thanks Ultravox! Excellent photo, very useful and  it looks exactly the same to me. That photo of the bent packaging is horrifying  glad you managed to get it bent into shape. Thanks also to LED-man for sending me a metric measurement of the other side, which also looks the same as V1. T...

Can somebody with a new PCB measure the dimensions for me? Specifically, I'm interested in the corner cut-outs at the top. Or, if someone has both new and old PCBs, a comparison of the dimensions at the top corners (relative to the panel-mounted components like jacks) by overlaying them would be rea...

aerosol foam cleaner
Back in the UK as a service tech I would use Servisol 30 foam cleaner to clean the outside of electronic instruments, amps, decks etc. It did a great job of removing all manner of sticky crap and smells great. It's difficult to get hold of here so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend an alternative...
