Re: How did you pick your sequencer?

My sequencer selection process: 1. Read stuff on Muffs, watch videos, etc., and find one that seems like it will be a good fit. 2. Buy it. 3. Use it for a while. 4. Decide it's not a good fit and sell it. 5. Return to step 1. I've been doing that since 2013! Right now I have an MPC One which is obvi...

The One really has 8 CV/gate outputs? And yet still just one stereo output for audio? What an incredibly bizarre machine! What does the workflow look like? I can’t figure out how you would use it sensibly.
I use it as a MIDI sequencer for my modular.

An EQ module is a good candidate for this type of job. I have a Happy Nerding Tritone.

Re: Question for MPC X/One owners

One more quick note: for the setup I described above to work, you have to change the Monitor setting of each track from Auto (the default) to either In or Merge. When Monitor is set to Auto, then data from the MIDI input is only sent to the track when the track is armed. And by default, tracks are o...

Re: Question for MPC X/One owners

If you're only considering it for that narrow scenario then the Kentons are a legitimate alternative. But the MPC gives you so much more! Do you really need a separate multitrack sequencer? The MPC is a multitrack sequencer itself, among many other things.

Re: Question for MPC X/One owners

The answer to your question is mostly yes. Let me clarify a few things. The MPC One , which I have, only has a single physical DIN MIDI input. So you can't connect two MIDI controller keyboards to it via DIN MIDI. However as of software version 2.8, you can connect multiple controllers via USB if yo...

Looks like v2 is the MultiVoltage version: http://www.midisolutions.com/faqs.htm#MultiVoltage. Mine is a MultiVoltage one so I should be good.

Nothing that you put in or near your face. Nothing delicate. Nothing requiring particularly fine motor control.

Re: midi solutions quad thru?

Reviving an old thread... Has anyone ever chained two of these together? I have one now but I need more outputs. I know they make an 8 output rack module but I don't have room for that. But I could get a second one of these and sit it on top of my first one, which would net me 3 more outputs. Is the...

Re: MPC & Eurorack

I got an MPC One a few days ago to use with my 5 rows of eurorack and a few hardware synths. I've never used an MPC before nor anything like it such as groove boxes and samplers, so it's a whole new world to me. I'm mainly looking at it as a sequencer, both for MIDI tracks to use with my hardware sy...

Re: MPC Live II availability/impressions?

What attracts you to the Live II? I just got an MPC One a few days ago after analyzing the options. I can't see much reason to spend extra on the Live II. The only things that set the Live II apart appear to be the extra audio outs, the built-in speaker, and the ability to run on battery power. If t...

Hey Igorrr, any update on restocks of the 3xMIA or any of your other modules with the dual concentric knobs? I'm specifically looking for a 6xMIX. I already have two 3xMIA, a 3xVCA, and a TriTone.

FYI, I've given up on any hope of using MIDI clock from DAW to sync to my Eurorack and other hardware. I've gone back to using my Expert Sleepers ES-3 and the Silent Way Sync plugin.

Multimode filters with voltage control over mode

What multimode filters are out there with voltage control over mode, so that you can smoothly go from LP to Notch to HP? There are plenty of filters out there with a knob for this, such as the Doepfer A-106-5. But very few seem to have CV control over it. In fact the only one that I've found is the ...

Re: DIVKID/SSF RND vs SSF URA

I'll point out again that the new DivKid/SSF module is actually 6 S&H circuits not 3. They are clocked/triggered in 3 pairs so they are not fully independent circuits. But they all have independent pink noise sources, so the positive-only output is truly an independent output not just a half-rectifi...

Re: New DivKid module

It's actually 6 S&H not 4, and all 6 have built-in independent pink noise sources. The independent part is key to me, since that means a simultaneous trigger to all 6 will give you 6 different values not 6 copies of the same value. Also, 3 of them have built-in rectifiers (positive voltage only) whi...

I'm resurrecting this thread. Can any current or past users of the Sub Ring comment on it? I'm looking for an audio mixer to combine multiple oscillators, within a 6 HP limit. I first targeted the Happy Nerding 6xMix but that's not available anywhere in the US. My searching then led me to the Sub Ri...

Warps is almost made for vocals. Also, Morphagene is a ton of awesome on voice.
How so? Besides the vocoder?
I'm working on a song right now where I ran vocals through its ring mod. The other modes can give some interesting results too. The internal oscillator makes things very easy.

Re: NEW KICK / BASS Drum from WMD, CRATER

Mine arrived yesterday. In my first session with it last night, I wandered my way into some snare/snappy percussion sounds. I put another oscillator into the V/oct to get FM, turned the main decay way down to keep the FM part short, and turned the click decay all the way up. Playing with the differe...
