Re: A couple of questions about Rob Hordijk´s Zeitgeist circuit

Yes, Hordijk uses a different scheme than every other PT2399 circuit which is a cool hack, but if p1 and p2 are turned full ccw, they put pin6 (which is at +2,5V internally iirc) at GND so latchup can occur.

Btw. +5V on Pin4??? That should be 0V/GND with respect to Pin1!

Re: A couple of questions about Rob Hordijk´s Zeitgeist circuit

Maybe pin 6 problem?
You need high resistance (at least 1k) to GND from pin 6 at startup or the PT will latch up!

Re: A couple of questions about Rob Hordijk´s Zeitgeist circuit

did you build from this schematic here: http://electro-music.com/forum/phpbb-files/zeitgeistschematic_175.png what does the power LED look like after startup? does it get brighter, and then go dim suddenly? I remember having exactly that happening to me with my first build...too much current Just b...

Re: Glitch Storm: A DIY Bitranger-Bytebeasque-Chiptunethingo

Received my GS yesterday and built it in the timestrech of the kids watching Aristocats :sb: Had already fun with it, surprisingly complex and variable noisemaker, that really shines when a good dose of bass eq is added or via the vcf+delay route! Yes it earned the name "synth" :guinness: Thank you ...

was afraid to mention it

Also Doepfer (especially PLL!) was mentioned
When I was still doing euro, I was into the SynthTech way of panel layout, that worked very good for me

Go for used Nord G1.
You’re joking right....
Only from a certain perspective, if you´re looking for advanced modular synthesis, the Nord has all you´d ever need, so you would buy the Buchla for some other reason,

I once had a mail exchange with Nicholas Collins, who is looking for a *originally responding* vactrol (-combination) for this unit for probably more than 20 years and had a letter-conversation with old "Mr. Countryman"has come to the conclusion that these were custom made units of which there is no...

Discrete polarizing DC mixer - How is it done?

Just out of curiosity, is there an easy way to design a discrete (bjt-transistor) circuit which acts as an attenuverting DC (!)mixer? The best way I could think of is close to discrete opamp (differential input pair into follower with feedback to neg. in) and then pan between the + and - inputs... S...

Re: Audio mixer and running signal through pots

In designing a basic audio mixer for a modular synth, with no voltage control, just manual control, is there any good reason to use still use a VCA-type circuit to avoid running the signal though front-panel pots? Unless you have a special application like implementing custom taper with cv breakpoi...

Re: A filter, and then another filter in the patch

I used to play with a guitarist in College and we did filter>echo>filter and that was very nice. LFO on the first filter and you had these cascading echos. The filter was inside the echo loop so each echo was different IIRC. The reverb method can create sounds totally reminiscent of gregorian chant...
