Hi aladan, thanks for your helpful answer. you will probably find you use your modules more for pattern generation rather external video processing. That's perfect since generating basic patterns is what I was hoping to do. I don't have many external sources that I could process anyway. I'll probab...

Hi everyone. First, many thanks to everyone contributing to this topic, which is a very valuable source on information. I want to start a Cadet video synth and I would like your advice on the choice of 8 starter modules. I know that 8 modules is not enough, but I won't be able to fit more in my cur...

sad news for all of us who don't have facebook and don't want to use it :despair:  Amongst the obligatory drivel there are some great synth groups on Facebook. I believe I fully understand, agree with and support the things I've heard said by those who are anti-Facebook, but I suggest they at ...

Isn't the trimmer supposed to set the temperature? If so, doesn't the perfect temperature depend on the environment in which the unit is being used -- you need to raise the transistors above the ambient temperature to have any control don't you? Every implementation of the uA726 I've ever seen had ...

Well done aladan , and thanks for posting your experience. With a little over 1600 solder joints to make it is easy to mess one or two up, or forget to solder the odd one or two. Yes, the issue was that I put too much solder onto the clipped socket pins, which have a lot of space around them (the h...

I have just fixed a problem with my rev 1 unit, so I thought I would share the details. I was going to ask about it, but instead I decided to work on it for myself, as a learning experience 8-) The sequencer looked just fine on first power-up, visually. All buttons did what they should, all LEDs pla...

Hi, all. So, finally getting around to this project, and already a question. I have a Rev. 3 PCB, which has printed on it a note that "all sliders, switches and sockets mount on the opposite side." The sliders, switches and 3.5mm sockets make sense, of course, but does "sockets" also include the IC...

Hi aladan, if you have a +/-15V PSU then you don't need the DC/DC converter. I had a spare DC/DC converter from my TTSH builds and decided to use it in the sequencer. So I bought a 15v/2a SMPS to go with it. I don't like wall warts so all my builds have internal PSU's. Excellent! That's what I was ...

Power supply query
Hi guys, I'm finally building my round 1 unit. I have a spare small SMPS I'd like to use - very similar to the one in ultravox's photo here: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/14394_img_2934_1.jpg My supply provides -15V and +15V each at 500mA, powered from mains input directly - so more tha...

How did / are y'all going to finish the end cheeks? I'm going for tolex (for this and my TTSH). It's very DIY friendly and makes case-building so much easier (mistakes get hidden) and I just love the retro look and feel. Here's an example of flts' one in tolex from the build thread and it looks sch...

Has anybody in the EU ordered some CEM3340s and can tell me what they charged for shipping them? Shipping for 10 chips was USD$35 to Australia, which should likely represent a worldwide upper bound, given the distances involved. Priority mail would have cost USD$65, but I did not choose it. I paid ...
