Re: Exceptional rap...
The new Deca album is a beautiful example of how important dynamics are. His music is top notch.

Reverb is such trash. I still buy there sometimes from ordinary people, but their complete lack of moderation of these grifters is really off-putting.

The Komplex is actually quite simple. It's all right there on the panel. You can make it as complicated as you want. It has a ton of unusual capabilities (4x CV recorders!). I love mine.
Unfortunately it has been discontinued so you'll have to look on the used market if this one is the answer.

I once put my A-152 in a Make Noise skiff and that was a "no clock" situation, so yeah, might not be the issue on its own.

What PSU are you using? This module behaves strangely if it's not properly grounded.

Second from top right is the Make Noise QMMG. To the left is the Toppobrillo Triple Wavefolder. Two Maths below that.
The reason it's hard to recognize is because he's clearly been in the game a while, judging by those modules alone.

Re: Leave rack powered on or off?
The amount of power drawn by these systems makes leaving them on all the time an enormous waste of resources. Imagine all the modules you could buy with the money you throw out in electricity costs...

Supply seems to come in waves with these. It's a great case and worth the wait! But I second the idea of asking a retailer or two for their perspective.

Re: Which Joystick brings you joy?
It's simpler and easier to dial in precise responses thanks to the bigger knobs. Fewer features, but I rarely use most of the Planar's features (for some resaon).

Re: How did you pick your sequencer?
The Komplex is my workhorse. Love it. Sad but not surprising that it didn't have a long production run. I've got a bunch of utility pieces that complement the Komplex. Z8000 and a Pressure Points, which sometimes sequence the Komplex, and a few switches of different flavors. Easy to get lost in the ...

Re: Make Noise Phonogene in 2020?
The Phonogene compositions thread provides ample evidence that this module can do wonderful things. It and the rest of the lineage are not EZ-mode tools, though. Takes some work to make them really shine.

Re: NE Desmodus Versio
Mine arrived and I'm not having any issues with jacks at all. My worst jack experience was on the Malekko JAG. That thing grabbed ahold and wouldn't let go. It discouraged me from using it to the point that I never really gave it a chance. Sort of sad, I guess. This is a really interesting module. S...

It's great! I've never used it with drums though. Do you have an example or two of how you mangle drums with it? Sorry, I don't seem to get around to organizing my recordings to the point where I could share something easily. My Machinedrum has been running through the T-R for a long, long time, so...

Re: How many modules outside your rack?
Had a lot of modules sitting in a cupboard and after trying to sell them for 2 years I decided to stop wasting my time and just bought another HEK. Still have a few that don't fit, and I suspect that'll only get worse over time even though I'm not buying much anymore.

My son yanked a cable hard and broke a jack on a module (tore the damned thing right out of the module). Still have to fix it (or get it fixed).

I'll tell you the same thing everyone else does though....Erbe Verb and Zverb are the best reverbs in Euro I'm not sure that's true anymore. Erbe Verb has long been a module with mixed reactions, especially as a true, end-of-chain reverb. "It's a sound design tool for mid-patch" is a broadly held o...

Something I notice listening to SIGN is a more immediate awareness (or at least sense) of the music being physically performed with controllers (including a keyboard) rather than simply rolling out as a series of maths problems the way their recently tsunami of live stuff feels. But then I listen to...
