Re: intellijel Rainmaker
I need to be able to play with the rhythm of the delay, and the Distance of the Taps on the fly to build quickly grooves and Ambience. Note that you can change the overall delay time quickly using MODB now. It doesn't give you the pitch shifting with delay time changing, however. The feedback tap p...

Re: Top 5 modules?
without saying any of my own modules (cyclebox, shapeshifter, rainmaker) or any ones from intellijel, my favorite 5 modules in my rack are:
- Wiard Borg Filter
- Wiard Noisering
- Doepfer A-196 PLL
- Livewire AFG
- MFB Dual LFO

Re: intellijel Rainmaker
Hi there! I just got a new rainmaker. It looks very complex and capable of everything, but after many days watching tutorials and reading the manual i still miss something that i can not understand. I know that is a stupid question but i really can’t understand this: If i want to change the delay r...

Re: Shapeshifter: I’ve tried so hard
SS Designer here. There is much to say about different ways to use the Shapeshifter. Here are a few random observations/tips in no particular order: Many of the features, such as some of the sync and pulse modes are intended for very specific uses. Others are there to provide a wider variety in wave...

Re: intellijel Rainmaker
We put in an automatic gain control on the delay line in the last update. People were complaining about the runaway distortion. So we tamed it down. It is more usable now, although at the expense of losing some of the craziness. You can still get runaway distortion on the comb section however. The c...

Very cool! Your partner seems to be a variable siamese twin, always useful for twiddling many knobs at once.

Re: 2 oscillators into 1 filter?
One can also design transposed state variable filters that, instead of having 1 input and 3 outputs (LP, BP, HP), have 3 inputs (LP,BP,HP) and 1 output. So, input 1 gets lowpassed, input 2 gets bandpassed and input 3 gets highpassed, and these are all then mixed together at the single output. The El...

Re: Intellijel Shapeshifter: Tips, Tricks, and useful things
A couple questions that came up in my fiddling: The manual says mod a is audio rate but when both OSC are in LFO mode and mod a is set to phase 2, the internal normaling seems to work ok at CV rates. Does it somehow bypass the audio rate limitation because it is routed internally? When you set comb...

Re: Vocoder thread
Yes, you can use an external source connected to the MODA input. Set the MODA source to be VOC CARR.purple_elk wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 1:48 pmHello all,
I am just getting to grips with the cylonix shapeshifter from Intellijel, and re the vocoder, I'm wondering if you can use an external source for the carrier?

Re: Mungo Enterprises d0, dual channel Delay
There are several modules with very short delays possible on internal feedback, that important distinction should be made clear. What is the shortest delay possible when using an external feedback path? The resolution you mention of 0.01ms is a little confusing, is that the finest resolution of the...

Re: Mungo Enterprises d0, dual channel Delay
ive had both and can compare the rainmaker, sounds good and is all in 1 package, but the comb maxes out at 3.8 ms which is just so much less than the d0 which can go up to .2ms...5k frequency i think. This isn't true (about the rainmaker comb maxing out at 3.8msec). The rainmaker comb can go down t...

Re: a boisterous chiptune-ey track
Sickkk! What’d you use as sound sources? Edit: I guess I’m curious as to how you did the whole track. Really dig it. Used Ableton Live with mostly samples, and the Arturia Synclavier also doing some work. The DSI OB-6 is also in there somewhere. But mainly samples (from trawling Splice). Sorry to s...

I forgot to say that you should turn PERC MODE on also. So the trigger starts the percussion mode amplitude envelope, while the external envelope generator at the same time modulates the TILT.SavageMessiah wrote:Is the trigger into sync to avoid clicks when opening the VCA, or for some other purpose?

I came here to figure out if there was a SS thread and happy to find this. 1. I'm specifically wondering if people have tips/tricks to get the SS to make bass synth sounds. One thing I like doing with the SS is to use the TILT on a sinewave. Then use MODB to modulate the TILT and feed an envelope i...

Hi, I haven't tried it myself, but you should definitely be able to update the FPGA using the Linux tools. The Linux version of the Quartus tools are just as capable as the Windows versions. The only way to avoid the wraparound would be to truncate the grain so that it doesn't go into the future. This would cause a glitch. The right way to avoid this problem is to set the nominal delay to anything more than the grain size. Depending on the amount of pitch shift you can get away with a s...

I recently got a Rainmaker! Love it, but there's something confusing happening. This is purely about the delay section btw, not the comb. Comb is off. If the delay time is very low (eg 0.0ms - so no delay), a tap that is pitch-shifted will play again ~20 seconds later. This is with feedback at 0, n...
