Many many thanks, Mark!!! I owe you a beer, you made my day. It was the right klick on source file to import the asm files, which coursed me to fail before. Now it is working well (after setting the power during programming). For those, who may have similar problems and don't know how to turn power ...

Too stupid to get ASM file into PIC with MPLAB X (Win7)
Dear folks, after nearly one week of research, watching youtube, reading tutorials and of course the manual etc i failed to get success loading an ASM file into MPLAB X IDE v5.00. Seems like i am too stupid for that. (I even do not know, what the correct name is for such a file, to get better search...

Re: Announce Thread: Magpie Modular - uBraids - Braids in 8 HP.
After a long time i struggled over my 2 unfinished uBraids (v1). They are sounding well, but had no displays which i ordered inbetween. Since i lost my original documentation and the build is too long ago to remember i do have some questiones before i try to get the OLEDs work: 1. Should the OLED ar...

Re: Mutable Module Tester
If you have Eagle (even just the free version) you should be able to open up the schematic and figure it out from there by tracing it there (and comparing to the datasheet for the power module, if necessary). Should be pretty pretty easy to spot which pin goes where from the power connector. I'm no...

Re: Mutable Module Tester
Hello Wigglers, I'm nearly finished building version 2 of the Module Tester. That is the one with the very expensive TRACO POWER TEL 5-1222. Before destroying it with wrong polarity of DC wall wart, could anyone tell me if the center pin of wall wart connector expects plus or minus (or if it doesn't...

Superb project! :yay: The videos are really helpful in understanding how in general such a project is done and especially the display is driven. Allthough i am far from getting all details to develop my own :hihi: Well the sequencer's realtime modifying feature is such a cool thing that i'm going to...

Thanks. Inbetween i ordered my parts and build the VCO. For those who don't immediately hear sound after building VCO: When you are sure there is no error in building connect Tri Out and for a quick start turn back and forth VR4=VR205 until you hear anything. There is only a small spot (maybe you ha...

Hi, Data sheet tells me: 2SC945Q has got a gain between 135 and 270. 2SC945P (those from Reichelt) is between 200 and 400. Since I'm very bad in desoldering, i want to ask before, if i can use the "P" version in all places (in Sys-700 too?), or if there are some places, where the lower gain of "Q" i...

Re: Thermistor
Hey!! What happen if i put a 2k resistor instead of the 2k +3500ppm thermistor You will get an oscillator which is not tracking well on different temperatures. There are allways little temperature drifts, so calibrating 1V/oct will be a horror and would not last long. You can use a 2k resistor for ...

Question due to tolerance of resistor networks
Hello experienced wigglers, while planing several octave switches for VCOs i thought of using available resistor networks, but i do not know what their given 2% tolerance is for: A) all internal resistors equal but max 2% from nominal value B) all internal resistors may vary 2% from each other (and ...

Just finished two little helpers in 4HP, i call them cut-CV-generators. They differ only in the switches (push type vs hand gear). I allways use a very slow LFO, Key-CV and an EG for filters but most commercial VCFs do only have two CV inputs. So i combined an ADSR (from Yves Usson) and a simple Tri...

NPN vs PNP has to do with which direction the current needs to flow into the circuit. the NPN sinks current, so it pulls current into itself from a higher voltage, whereas the PNP sources current, so it pushes current out into a lower voltage. PNP is usually used for LM13700 or 3080 circuits where ...

Hi wigglers, my System-X VCO with fitzgreyve's 3046 temp. compensation is my most stabile built, so i wish to modify several Thomas Henry VCOs. Sorry, my abilities in deeply circuit understanding are rather poor, so following questiones occure: 1. Is it that simple to replace Q1/Q2 (LM394/matched 39...

After a longer break i was able to finish my shaper, but i got two issues: 1. I can't set the 3-position switch to Square, in middle position it is triangle as well as switched down. Since i used an ON-ON-ON (3-Pos) switch i guess i should have used an ON-OFF-ON type, right? (Looking at schematics t...

What is your suggestion for fuses for my euro power supply?
Dear wigglers, all my former attempts to power up my system left me either straight forward in getting poor or not having enough stability. (two doepfer supplies are too weak) So i bought 2 toshiba laptop supplies (switching regulators, 5A, 15V each) and stabilised each with 100nF parallel to 2 x 47...

Hey, double crime, nice! Does that use a custom PCB or flying leads to two standard PCBs? Could we see a photo of the back? And a higher-res photo of the front (and the single one too)? I might create a gallery of O&C builds and panels on the O&C web site. My last pcbs designed with fritzing had to...
