I wish I didn't feel a bit negative on these, but I'm struggling to see how these aren't just plugins in a box. The hardware interface isn't so hands-on as to be all that enticing, you can already get pretty low latency with a computer, and it's still mostly just staring at a screen. Maybe I'm wrong...

Well, Korg has started to manufacture things with them, including this new Vox mini-amp: http://www.voxamps.com/MV50 And the new Vox Continental: http://www.voxamps.com/VOXContinentalKeyboard So I'd guess user experience with it will start to roll in at some point. Be strange if they're microphonic ...

But then, what does anything digital do that you couldn't build yourself with a max msp or pure data patch? Nothing really.

Ultimately, it sits on a pedal board, gets you away from the computer.

The number of pedals also looks to have doubled in the past week, which is excellent.

Why all modular synth players always look so serious sand puzzled? ::)) i don't want to look like that!!! It should be funnnn! How are being serious and having fun mutually exclusive? I've done a lot of both approaches, recording straight to two-track or heavily editing a bunch of recorded bits. The fun for me for recording a single performance is that I like being forced to make peace with decisions/mistakes made during the performance, and if I ultimately don't like something, ...

It was 4 years between 8 and 9, so they're technically not far off schedule. But maybe they're waiting for Link to be more broadly adopted before launching a new version? My more immediate hope is that they put videos from Loop 2016 up on their youtube channel soon. Many of the 2015 videos were exce...

Gearslutz is similar to here, great for getting first person accounts on a specific mic/compressor/preamp, less great as idea fodder. But, their Expert Q&A section has some great stuff in it, lots of fan service to wade through, but great technique ideas do pop up now and then. I'd recommend the Tch...

You can't buy emtpy dreadbox case atm. These cases come only as a pre-built systems so it should not be in the list.
Are you sure? This shop listing seems to suggest otherwise:

This could handle one HT Dual plus other non-Blackstar pedals:

But I don't think it can handle two pedals at 22V DC and 1.1A.

Is it wrong that this just makes me want the hardware? Well, I'm sure someone has written a psychology paper or two on that desire. But, I'm willing to bet a fair few Arturia software users have come away wanting a real Arp 2600 or Minimoog too. I think it's a natural outcome of these photo-as-GUI ...

Definitely all the time, doesn't really stop with experience although I guess it gets easier to move on from them.

I like the dead ends, I find after a major project I go through extended bouts of patching crap. Helps build up bits and pieces of good ideas for the next big project.

Which should I buy H9 Max or timefactor and space? I do have an iPad, but see potential issues with live performance. Are they? My mistake. The LFOs I have put out a wider range than when I use Maths with an offset, at least, whatever the specific voltages are (I confess I don't spend too much effort remembering voltage values).

The LFOs might be made redundant, although Maths isn't the greatest at being a bipolar LFO. I'm intrigued as to why you say this because I find Maths very flexible in this regard and it's super easy to patch (negative offset mixed with positive cycle). Mostly because doing it that way, you lose som...

The two most likely to be made redundant are the slew and ADSR, with the caveat that Maths can't be those two things at the same time since it takes the two EG channels to patch an ADSR (but one channel could be slew while the other could be an ASR at the same time). The LFOs might be made redundant...

There's software that does something like what the OP is asking for, real-time buffer capture and reverse, but a buffer is still a delay.
