Did you try the Fast switch?

Sorry if you did, but I didn't see you mention it.

how are the envelopes/VCA? I could not get over them in the minilouge. Clicks and pops all over the place even after all the regular " Fixes". I liked the overall sound so I would love the mono to be better. You mean can you dial out the attack on the envelope? Sure, no prob. [video]http://www.yout...

I got a pretty decent one going. you can use it as long as you promise to start planning for halloween patches now. start with vco1 and 2 set to tri. vco2 on top octave. turn ring mod on. turn vco1 all the way down and vco2 all the way up in the mixer. cut off and resonance both at about 12 o'clock...

One could always wait until Perfect Circuit or some other store has it on sale.

Or just wait until it shows up used.

Oh yeah if you already had an H9 Max, a good deal on a Core to double up is hard to beat.

I was surprised how quick and easy it was to learn Expert Mode to access all 10 params for a given algo on the pedal - without busting out my iPad.

any tips on getting a bell-like sound out of a monologue? i know that is typically done with fm synths, but anything in the ballpark would be cool. i'm asking for a 7-year old, who wants something christmas-y sounding ... Try the ring modulator. You also want the shortest possible attack and long d...

One of the playing techniques is to touch a pair of contacts with a finger, and slowly lift the finger to decrease the amount of skin touching the bottom contact - for most settings you should hear a noticeable change in the sound, usually pitch but not always. This technique works best with the FA...

you can sound the voice and swell the volume by allowing more/less of your skin to touch the contacts. What do you mean? Is contact pressure sensitive? from the manual "Consist of a pair of contacts each. The upper contact is sensitive, the lower is the control voltage." I don't understand what upp...

MIDIGal Dispatcher:

Does not look like the firmware is open source (no GitHub link).

Too bad I'm terrible at soldering - otherwise I'd be getting the PCB and other parts and giving it a go.

I see 4 listed on Reverb as used. I'm not in a rush so I can wait until Dreadbox start making some more. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up making an Abyss V2, with changes that make the original version more desirable to some, while the the V2 is more desirable to others.

Yes indeed. I read that when I was a Gearslutz member, but no more. I acted on this info, and I was quite lucky to get one from Detroit Modular, but I waited for a 10% off for U.S. Thanksgiving. Now they are out of stock at Detroit Modular! Yeah, I found that GS thread, and your posts, after I deci...

Re: Volca FM vs Reface DX (operator feedback difference) ???

Korg Volca FM: ** 3 voice polyphonic (I believe I've read more than one of these Volca FMS may be "chained" together to increase their polyphony .. right?). No built-in polychaining. You need an add-on device like the Retrokits Smart Cable or a MIDIGal to poly chain: https://www.retrokits.com/shop/...

There is a drone mode on Opz.. Add to that per step modulation, step micro timing, samples, and adsr tweaks, you can get droning. :tu:
I would like to hear an audio example of this.

I stand corrected. I was fooled by the lack of "Quantum" in the thread title. Between that and the One, I'd be a lot more productive musically with the Moog. Perhaps others feel similarly, and hence the apparent greater interest. Or it could be that this Moog is just the shinier new toy of the month...

...All this foofaraw about a poly Moog, and so little interest in what seems to me like a more unique and flexible flagship, the Quantum. Sure, if I had space and lots of cash, I'd have Moog One in a second. It is gorgeous and desirable and no doubt a quality synthesizer. But not the end-all be-all...

Might replace my Korg MS-20 Mini as my preset-free, analog patching playground with this. Smaller footprint, easier to pack, and the Dreadbox sound to boot. When I compare Nick's review/demo of the old Erebus vs. the V3, I don't really hear anything that makes me want to reject the V3 for an older m...
