Sorry, potentially dumb question, but where does one buy a 258e, and why is it referenced to as "DPO"?

This might be a bit of a tangent, but I am not exactly clear on what defines "first person to use computers to compose music"? Does it mean… …first composition done by a computer, but played by humans? …first piece of music generated entirely by a computer, but not in realtime? …first computer gener...

Thank you for your kind words! Would love to hear more about your workflow and equipment. There's not much more equipment involved than the 200e with its modules shown above, just an Eventide Space and an Elektron Octatrack. I only use one preset on the Eventide Space, and the OT is empty (i.e. no s...

I was quite tempted to get this for my Easel. But after this video I have to admit that this sounds like what I get out of my Cracklebox . To those who experienced the Modulation Weasel first hand: Does the video give a fair representation of what can be achieved with the Modulations Weasel? Are mor...

200e live – shorter & stereo!

Last week I was playing my 200e at a synth gathering here in Germany close to the border with the Netherlands. There were 5 other acts that evening and with 2 of them messing up the timetable, I offered to play while one band was tearing down their setup on stage, followed by the next band setting u...

I hope that this isn't taken in the wrong way. Not at all! You KNOW that I luvs ya. The feeling's mutual, my friend! Nonetheless, I'm compelled to ask: "Why so lengthy?" There were only 2 performers that evening, Henning and myself, and we agreed before starting that each one should play between 35...

200e live in glorious mono!

Last weekend I was playing at an improvisation concert on my 200e, together with fellow Buchla musician Teitreph (unfortunately I don't know if he's on Muffs as well), who also organized the event (you can listen to his music here ). The gig took place in a small village in Lower Saxony, Germany. Th...

285e Calibration Procedure?

For my taste, my 285e Frequency Shifter / Balanced Modulator exposes a bit too much bleed-thru of its built-in oscillators at high frequencies. Is there a way to calibrate/adjust this module accordingly?

Thanks much in advance!

It's not about the range, it's about the technical principle. A Fixed Filter Bank denotes a different technical principle than an Equalizer.

.. the FFB is just an eq.. Sorry, that's wrong. The FFB is not an EQ. An EQ allows you to cut or boost a certain frequency range for a maximum dB range (like ±10 dB). An FFB only allows you to cut a certain frequency range, it can't boost it, but in contrast to an EQ you can cut it so much that it ...

The cable one offered by Kenton does not do the V-Trig to S-Trig conversion. You need this circuit: https://www.synthesizers.com/learn/gates/strigcircuit.jpg I do seriously suck with a soldering icon, but managed to build this circuit on the small PCB you see in the pic above. How somebody can fit t...

I really enjoy playing the Moog 15 via a keyboard – with the A4 I can use any of MIDI keyboards.

The other tricky part was the strain relief for the cable. The Amphenol connector's strain relief is designed for multicore cables with quite a large diameter, so the stereo 1/4" cable was simply to thin to be held securely by the strain relief. So I got my hands hot&wet with Gorilla plastic (never ...

Although the A4's CV outputs can be switched between V-Trig and S-Trig, I had to find out that the A4's S-Trig is in fact a voltage-based Switch-Trigger, i.e. it goes from a high voltage (e.g. +5 Volt) to 0 Volt when the Gate goes high, which did work with my vintage Korg MS-20, but didn't work reli...

Here are the cables I made: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/6430_img_4675_1.jpg In case you don't know, the Elektron A4 (old version) organized its 4 CV output into 2 stereo outputs, that's why my cables have stereo jacks. One cable connects to the upper Amphenol connector on my Moog Mode...

You don't happen to have the pinout for the keyboard connector available somewhere good Sir? Or is it included in the purchase? I am waiting for my Model 15 but just realized I lack some trigger cabling... I measured which of the front panel connectors go to which connectors inside the chunky two A...
