Re: Low-profile bipolar PSU/power PCB for Hammond/Bud boats?

The Elby PSU 10 can be built pretty thin, trimmer might be highest component if you get clever with Vreg heatsinks

Re: Problems with Serge Klangzeit panel

When he says 'hair's breadth' he really means it! Just looking at it funny will knock it out of whack! The chips are sensitive to static so make sure you ground yourself first and don't wear a nylon shirt, if you don't have a proper IC puller you may be able to slide a tiny screwdriver or needle und...

Re: Problems with Serge Klangzeit panel

It's not an uncommon issue with WADs. They may be perfectly calibrated in the shop but during shipping or after lack of use, temperature changes, etc., they get out of calibration. There are two trimmers, I think, on the WAD boards that you must adjust until you get the right response for the B out...

Unfortunately we need a bit more info to help, what Rev PCB is it, the original single sided green CGS114 PCB or the new CGS514 red dual PCB? What BOM are you looking at? And surely not BBC557 AND BC557? I love DIY any way.... So back to a problem I have whit a CGS 114 in my BOG. The building notes ...

Thanks Ian!

FWIW both my P and N 311’s were brand new from Mouser, no funny eBay business.

Salut Th°ne!

Actually was trying to finish a new Teezer build and came across this exact issue today! I put LM311P in first without thinking and had this problem, replacing them with LM311N solved it

Re: Really good nut drivers?

I really like adding paper masking tape to the top of the metal ones and not having more plastic junk - win/win situation! if you use enough torque to break a plastic socket then you already damaged the guitar pedal.I would rather have the tool fail first to tell me that I suck at tightening bolts....

It's not a demo per se, but a lot of Bi N Tic on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6Y_uJEdS_4&t=23s Esp a sweep at 3in 50 and then all the weird noisy bits over the top at the the end (that sort of sound like a wonky vocoder) from about 5min, but basically once you pick it out you'll notice it'...

Re: Cgs114 dusg grounding issue?

Have you any more information on build / patch? Is it a euro module with minijacks, or is it built with bananas? Sounds like the Keystep and DUSG are not sharing a common ground connection between power supplies, and you are making this connection when you plug the Keystep into another module - whic...

Re: Ignorant Serge power wiring questions

You could probably fit two wires into the GND receptacle on PSU and then send one to each GND line on the distro, or you could not do this and simply rely on the GND being connected at the module end (this would assume it is), or you could solder a wire on the distro PCB connecting ground lines and ...

Re: Serge Euro Support

I think you prompted me to think about this recently! I was thinking I could just get a 4u panel (full 17”, rather than modules) made for the things I wanted to keep. It’s pretty easy to bananafiy most doepfer stuff, but you do have to take the module apart - if doing that why not just put the modul...

Re: Serge CGS 116 ADSR CV & Pots

Ah yes indeed I should post the wiring, but basically on the phaser PCB there are two mixers, one is the mixer at top of panel, the other I use to mix inputs. Input to phaser goes to mixer first, output of mixer goes to input of phaser, feedback pot is amount of phaser output going in the the mixer,...

Re: Serge CGS 116 ADSR CV & Pots

Yes, the wiring is weird, if wired as per Ken's page the Attack is inverted etc, also CV etc, you can change the pot wiring so it makes sense to you.

Tardishead - Serge said on FB don't bother 'matching them well' which I found rather amusing!

Re: Living VCO, anybody using 2 x modules?

There are a few errors/things to look out for on those; * Some of the PCB mounted pots need to be wired (PWM and FM IIRC) as pads are wrong. * The SMT cap pads are tiny, maybe 0402? * The transister footprints are indeed tight, but flux and careful soldering will see you through that! * You need to ...
