Here the Metasonix Bellend 4x4 panel (including rk4 filter-vco and rk2 preamp-vca) is processing a modified Roland TR-808. Also two rk7 thyratron oscillators are mangled in rk3 Pulser,Ring Mod and then go to rk6 primitive tube low pass filter. Watch your ear and speakers. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Eric mentioned sometime ago there was a new spring reverb in the plans.

Recently he said he´s working on a standalone synth based on Thyratrons, but not a spring reverb

Any comment about it?

When using Serge with Eurorack I have to utilize the Doepfer A-183-3 Amp quite a bit to get levels matching.

Yes i have two of them as well. Charlie (LoudestWarning) built me a 8 channel Signal Amp for that purpose.

Serge plays well with everything using the right cables or adaptors

I would check the bias oscillator. Some of the caps may have succumbed to old age and need to be replaced. You will need a good scope. You'll probably have to pay for a copy of the schematic. Can you listen to the input as it records? Is the level weak there as well?

in TEST mode either the Direct or Tape monitoring sounds ok
in RECORD mode Direct sounds good but Tape monitoring has the weak signal

The tension system. or alignment of the record head, the record head itself?

the bias calibration against the tape bias?

or would you try checking the record head connections under the deck first ?

Hi I have a Nagra 4.2 here that records too quiet. The inputs ( mics and LINE IN ) are ok as you can see on the meter and hear the DIRECT OUTPUT and PHONES . While recording if i switch to TAPE monitoring you can hear the weak signal almost inaudible. When playback the recorded signal it´s the same....
