Re: Arturia MicroFreak
I really like the unison mode as well - it is sort of more than just unison because using it with intervals slightly detuned really opens it up and the fact that you can apply it to all oscillator types makes some unique sounds. Also any company that is updating their existing products is alright wi...

Re: What's wrong with my Juno-60?
Sounds like voice chip issue? Is it always the same voices? There is a test mode that you can use to see if it’s voice or filter chips. That’s most likely and something that happens to them VERY often. This. It’s a common fault... voice chips shouldn’t be that difficult to source these days. I’m co...

Re: Arturia MicroFreak
Had fun today running output of the synth into model D the ext input and using freak as a midi controller to add in the oscillators of the boog. Mishmash of analog and digital.

Re: Arturia MicroFreak
"Arturia has just released the version 3.0 update for the mighty Microfreak - and it's a real good one. Along with bugfixes and an expanded preset storage the mighty freak has gained a Unison mode and 3 brand new and seriously good sounding oscillator modes designed by modular maestros Noise Engine...

Re: ISLA Instruments SP-2400
I’ve been sitting on my hands with this one for so long now , partly because I don’t have the budget right now. It is gonna be interesting to see how it develops for sure. Never used an SP but the interface is so fantastic. It definitely has some firmware issues so far but the forums are active and...

Re: ISLA Instruments SP-2400
I ended up having the issue after putting the gear to work for about a week. I sent it in to Isla and they fixed it the same day they got it (amazing!) and shipped it back the next morning first thing. There and back it took 7 days total. I would say overall great service for a small company. Love t...

Re: Making the Drumbrute sound better
I think Drumbrute Impact sounds great with the build in distortion, so I would probably like to add analog distortion for bigger Drumbrute too. I had a drumbrute and replaced it with the impact, and I think the impact sounds better, but not just because of the distortion. Ways to make the drumbrute...

Re: First hardware compressor recs
OK I totally take it back after listening with headphones you can hear how flat the plugin sounds... its pretty dramatic. Real Pultec sounds better but damn does the EQP-KT sound good. It does seem that the EQP-KT has a little bit of a harsher topend compared to the OG. I think this would be a great...

Re: First hardware compressor recs
My GAS quest just landed me on pultec clones as a potential magic box :). I have seen some old threads discussing the EQP-KT and EQP-WA. People rave about the magic of the original units in general and also when in bypass. Anyone have either of these lower end clones and can say if they feel the ma...

Re: Great table lamps - give me your ideas!
Probably not what you are looking for, but does anyone have a source on large led tubes like this one? North American voltage? Tried to source one in the past and was unsuccessful. Also give Samuli some love, he's great. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-oF8x2HQsc cool light and vibe to the music :...

Re: anyone good with digitakt mac setup?
don't i need to use the translate application if i want to move samples to the digitakt? Trasnfer app is to move files and you can use C6 or any sysex to update firmware. I have never used Transfer app to update my Digi. I would just simplify the situation as people are suggesting and use C6 or sys...

Re: Sequential OB6 and P6 get MPE and P5/10 style 'vintage' function
Update on my OB-6 Desktop was a real pain. Looking SO FORWARD to doing this update and have the file downloaded. Had you been updating it previously or was this your first version? Mostly curious if the pain was new compared to previous ones, and why. Previous OB6 updates have been pretty breezy on...

Re: First hardware compressor recs
I see what you mean - maybe investing in something to track with in the future but cost of entry seems really high for something that will beat a plugin.

Re: First hardware compressor recs
Thanks for all the recs here - I think I was convinced to stay in the box for now given some comments and also rethinking what it would mean for my workflow. Wasn't mentioned here but I saw some glowing recs for the DC8C and just bought that given the price was worth a shot and people rave about it....

Re: Sequential OB6 and P6 get MPE and P5/10 style 'vintage' function
Finally installed on the OB6 and it sounds great. Subtle but really interesting and musical. I think detune still has a place but this is more useful!

Re: First hardware compressor recs
Quick! Get rid of the rack!! should come with a warning label like cigarettes... Thanks for all the input I feel like this was somewhat of an intervention. No hardware for today but still gotta fill that rack tho... :despair: Maybe a good point to transition to favorite software compressors?

Re: First hardware compressor recs
Yea like I said I am not so sure I even need a hardware unit. I am sure like a lot of folks on here, I like to have my hands on something to dial it in. I find that that is the main reason I want it. I know it is gonna add a whole lot of headache in the setup so I am very hesitant. I just have this ...

Re: First hardware compressor recs
What do you want to use it for? Mastering? Controlling levels on vocals / acoustic recordings? Special effects / sidechain stuff? Do you want it to sound clean? Warm? etc etc. More specifically: fast / slow etc? Good questions - I would use it mostly for tracking and mixing synths, drums. I think I...

First hardware compressor recs
I have been recently tempted to get myself an outboard compressor and wanted to field some opinions on the topic. In the age of some pretty fantastic plugins is it worth getting a hardware compressor for a home studio? If you were to pick one versatile and affordable compressor - what would it be? I...

Re: Sequential OB6 and P6 get MPE and P5/10 style 'vintage' function
I did a (horrible audio) demo of the new VINTAGE mode on the OB-6 last night here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CJpkYveJfAs/ Did the Unison with Pan Spread from a single note sequence. At the most extreme setting (clockwise), you can hear it stepping through its 6 voices. Note: you have to turn it O...
