DAMN. Audioterm is awesome, but difficult to interface with the Blofeld Wavetable editor. The Wavetable creator will take a 32-bit wave file at 44100hz/128=344.53125hz and import the first 64 cycles, but there's no way to get Audioterm to output anything like that. It's very cool on its own though!

The Kawai K3 and K3m have digital waveform oscillators and analog filters, as people have mentioned. But specifically, they have the SSM2044 filter chips which were also used by the PPG Wave 2.2 and 2.3. It has six voices and sounds fucking awesome.

I had a problem like that with my 828 mkII a few years back and it was because the firewire cable was loose in the back of the 828. The connector isn't the best - see if you can induce the problem by jiggling the cable. If it does it, then the connector is the culprit.
