Blofeld users with an editor: I need a small favor
Hello! Here's the situation: A few years back I had a Waldorf Pulse Plus and generated a random patch on it that I really loved. Before I sold the Pulse, I did my best to replicate it on my Blofeld. Now I have a Virus TI2 and would love to try to replicate this patch again. It's not super complicate...

Ableton Live 9
I noticed today that Live has updated their website, and also announced a new version of Live: Live 9. Live 9 will have Max For Live included. Moreover, the new features look like a solution to a lot of the :bang: users have experienced in the past - simple stuff like recording automation and curves.

I have both the Blofeld (have had both desktop and keyboard versions) and the Evolver. I haven't used the OP-1, but based on your needs, I wouldn't push you towards either the Evolver or the Blofeld. If it was between those two, I would go for the Evolver, because you can open up the envelopes and l...

Understand that the world of academic electronic music was not very connected or concerned with commercial electronic instruments. There are exceptions, of course, but in that era, FM was more of an academic pursuit. A friend of mine studied experimental and electronic in the late 70s and described ...

Additive waveform creator out there?
As I'm paring down my hardware, I am redoubling my interest in the Waldorf Blofeld. What I'm particularly interested in exploiting is the ability to utilize user wavetables. Kotró László Lehel's Wavetable Creator is awesome for this, and the wave creation and morphing functions, in addition...

Wow. this is one elegant machine. the simplest tweak creates such noticeable change. i want one The tweaking is one of the best parts! If you get into programming, you can group multiple parameters to one knob, so turning one of the knobs can, for example, increase the amplitude of one of the opera...

Blofeld sysex backup bullshit
I'm getting ready to sell my Blofeld desktop so I can upgrade to the keyboard version. I'm trying to do some patch library maintenance and I came across a big problem with a sysex dump. There's nothing wrong on the hardware side, just to be clear! So last year sometime I uploaded some other patch li...

What about the tg77 / sy77. Do these come anywhere close to the fs1r? :hmm: Yes and no! The FS1R, which I own and will never ever ever sell, has 8 "voiced" operators, and 8 "unvoiced operators." The voiced ones can each be one of 7 waveforms (some with additonal parameters), or as a formant. So, ea...

thanks to this thread- just picked up a real cheap r8mk2 :) Luka, congrats! I've got one and I love it tremendously. My only disappointment is that it doesn't have all of the "Electronic" ROM card internal, so it's lacking a few of the 808 samples. The 808 snare on the ROM card is far better than t...

August 2010 I was walking by a pawn shop in the Mission district of San Francisco. In the back room, which has a window to the street, I spotted an Ensoniq Fizmo. I had wanted one since 2000 or so, but I couldn't justify getting it. Again, in October, I walked by the same pawn shop and saw the same ...

they are multi-stage envelopes, and any attempt to change the envelope parameters on the front panel reverts them to ADSR. The effects processor has tons of hidden parameters too, and you can only get to these extra features in a really crappy, buggy, nearly impossible to work right OEM version of ...

The Fizmo is an incredible piece of gear, but really frustrating if you really want to get into it. There are parameters you can't access at all from the front panel. For example, the EGs are ADSR on the front panel, but internally, they are multi-stage envelopes, and any attempt to change the envel...
