Thanks gents. Sorry, focusing on the sine output was probably misleading. I only used that as it was the clearest illustration of the output issue. It happens on all waveforms, some worse than others. I've tried swapping the ROMs and the problem persists. I think my next strategy is going to be swap...

MiniWave Problems

I have two MiniWaves here, one built by Blacet (I believe) and the second one that I recently built. The second one is misbehaving. Have a look at the photos. The first one the the output of Bank 0 / Wave 0 fed by a triangle wave. You can see it's outputting a decent sine wave as it's supposed to. T...

Thanks Tony. Yes, I suspect you're right about envelopes. I think he has a bit of a hybrid system (Euro and Frac): "The cv inputs seem to be set for 5v but my modulation sources are 10v.This means I either don't get much usable range from the COTA knobs or I have to use an attenuator to reduce the l...

COTA Modification

I built a COTA VCF for a customer last year and he'd like it modified for 10V control voltages (instead of 5V) Is there any information on how to make these changes? I presume he is just talking about the CV 1/2 inputs.

Thanks
Neil

Rollz-5, Meng Qi, rev 3 board. Hoping someone can help restore my sanity with this. This is the 4th one I've built but I've never had an issue with them before. Couple of issues I can't figure out. The first one is probably straightforward though I'm stumped because I didn't deviate from the specifi...

I'm wondering if it's to do with the vactrol? I used a VTLC3.

A question about the rolls caps. Am I right in thinking the intention of the PCB is to have two rows of rolls (3,4,5,6 on each row) as in the picture below? Then is it wise to have the same cap value for each node in each of the rolls? i.e. the 3-rolls on the top row all have same value but maybe ha...

Anyone managed to update their firmware on OS X? It says on Kilpatrick web page that the updater only supported on Windows and Linux so I guess it shouldn't be a great surprise it doesn't work. I just can't figure out why being that the updater is just a Java program (that runs on OS X). Parallels o...

Building another couple of these for clients :D 1) I can't find the thread about the Ultrasound fix - can someone point me in the right direction? 2) The two boards are Rev 4 - is the Ultrasound fix needed for that revision? 3) There's also the power rail fix (page 1 of this thread) - is that requir...

From Andrew: We offer the power supply through our website. It comes with both parts shown below. The supply should be rated for 24VDC 500mA and be a regulated, non-grounded type. The plug is 2.1mm DC coax plug, centre positive. Here are the part numbers for the one we use: - Mean Well GE12I24-P1J -...

Is there any scope for using capacitors other than the polys? Had two dodgy ones (4n7) and they are so hard to find in the UK at a reasonable price.

Having problems with mine and have stepped away from it for the evening to give my eyes a rest! :) With nothing plugged into the inputs, gain all the way down, feedback down, I get high pitched feedback from the outputs (all of them). Turning the 2.8K pot up has the greatest effect on the output but...

I'm in the process of adding two of these to a larger project and there is no real room on the panel to add the save/write/load functions (so just one input, 4 outputs) which means I have to pre-write and load the windows. It it just a case of feeding a source (noise?) into the input and then repeat...

I posted this over at MI but I thought I'd post here too in case anyone recognises this behaviour as it has me totally baffled: I have a customers Ambika back on my bench after about 6 months with a strange problem. Prior to this it has been working fine. All of the voice card LEDs have stopped work...

Small Format Mixer with at least one stereo sub bus?

I'm looking for a smaller mixer for my live setup. Currently using a Behringher Eurorack 4-bus one but it's larger than it needs to be for how I use it. The sub bus is important because I use it to feed my Octatrack to sample several other musicians who are mixed through my mixer. However it seems t...

Also go to Edit -> Gerber File Names and make sure you set the layer names to those understood by the PCB house. Some have strict naming conventions. It never does any harm to draw your board outline, even if it is a simple rectangle, on the A1 layer. Auxiliary layer 1. You can tell the PCB house t...
