I think i got it...I think? However, it seems like something is off. I set the pitch controls to noon, then I took 5v from Ornaments and Crime, plugged it into the 1vo and tuned the oscillator to middle c from the trim. Then I followed the calibration procedure. Everything kinda locked into tune and...

If I set both tuning pots to 12 oclock, tune the module to middle c via the trim, I am unable to follow the 1vo tuning procedure. My module can't go down to C2? Am I setting pitch with a dummy cable in 1v/o? Also there is some erratic behavior with module, Only when I am handling it, sometimes it kn...

Mutable Instruments Expanded Manuals? Idiot's guides?
I have been using a lot of MI gear lately and have noticed a theme. Some of the manuals have missing information as to secret modes, Easter eggs and alternative modes. I know Clouds has a bunch of extra stuff that is well documented, but Tides v1 can be a head scratcher at times. WIth only 3 LEDs to...

I am trying to update to the newest firmware and keep getting a message that the Hex is too large. I've went through this entire thread about this topic and can't seem to solve the issue. I am using a known data usb cable, so that's not the issue. Any suggestions? *Edit - Found the issue. The latest...

I found some more information about this. https://forum.mutable-instruments.net/t/efuse-on-grids/7687 I was able to set the Efuse using 0xfd. I am still unable to set the lock. I am pretty sure this module is functioning as intended. I need to run it through it's courses. However, I'd like to get th...

Try writing the fuses slowly eg avrdude -B 10 etc Clock will be incorrect if fuses are not written correctly. Note that setting incorrect fuses can make the chip bricked. I don't understand this. Is there a way to do this in AVRDudess? Edit - I found where to do this, I get the same error. What doe...

I am really struggling with this Atmega install. I decided to try Atmel studio, but I don't even know if it is communicating with my USBasp device. I've gone through many pages on this thread. Is there a walkthrough out there somewhere? I am on Windows, so this has been a frustrating ordeal with dri...

I’ve built a bunch of these mutable modules with success. However, I never built on with an Atmega. I have 2 questions for the Grids module I just completed; What is the orientation for the 6 pin header? I’m not sure which way to plug in the ribbon cable. I found a precompiled hex file which I plan ...

12V DC center positive should work You'd think but I have dozens of 9 - 12VDC center pos wall warts and all of them have a hum with only this gear. I found a beat-up Meanwell laptop PSU in my garage and this is the only one that works. I looked it up and it seems to be regulated. I think this is th...

So I finished. It took me a while to figure it all out and get it making sound. After a year of slowly piecing things together, it actually works... 8-) I only have one issue; the power supply. I have a box of over 100 wall warts saved from various electronics over my life. This will not work proper...

TBH, I'd stay away from R*S. After tons of missed emails and spotty communication on my malfunctioning "DIY" SSG, the ultimate response was to send the part back to them for inspection. I'd rather they either A) Give me some schematics to troubleshoot (I'm not sure why a DIY company doesn't give the...

4 pin XLR connectors are VERY common with professional recording equipment. Even Universal Audio (Digital) is using them. I prefer them over more "suitable" connectors for their serviceability, ruggedness and availability (in a studio environment). I think Moog had recording studios in mind with thi...

Howdy. I got my 2017 PCB last weekend and I started to source based on the Modular Addict BOM. I am near certain this is the BOM for the last revision. Before I spend a lot of time extracting the BOM from the PCB, I was wondering if anyone has done this legwork and would be willing to share/post it...

Howdy! I bought a broke ass Tascam 414 mk2 from Craigslist for 50 bucks and repaired it. I am loving this thing, but one thing I really want to do bypass the erase head for recording multi-track loops. Has anyone done this? I've tried tape over the erase head, covering it with paper, lifting the tap...

I have another point to chime in here; I have had the opportunity to meet many industry professionals who make these plugins, DAW's, soft synths, etc. and they are genuinely good people trying to make a living out of writing software to make music. I have never once met a malicious person hellbent o...

i can assure you anything can be replaced and if you do you will learn something new ;-) I understand the passion and politics behind your embrace of Linux, but the fact is, Linux plugins sound terrible. Many people and professional recording studios are "slaves" to these companies because their pr...
