(I believe) Synthcube's warehousing facilities are whole states separate from his physical location. Therefore, he could have literally no clue if something is not going right at the shipping location until someone tells him. I have had mixed experiences, but I think, overall, he is dedicated to his...

I think if you use all the resources readily available (books, videos, moocs, etc) *and* dissect the mutable github, you'll be well on your way.

With programming you need to book learn, experiment, and learn from real world scenarios. Just like anything else really.

Yeah No worries on my account. It'll take me at least a couple days to get it fully laid out and placed in Kicad anyway.

I'm willing to bet it's in the other thread - but in the interest of it being quickly available information: Have you experimented with other matched transistors? Anything that matches the footprint and is reasonably matched GtG? I'm looking forward to laying this out - I could use some low parts co...

I forget, does this LFO nicely?

I'm thinking I might might a little surface mount "everything but the controls" board for fun. For me. If you're up for it IDC if it gets shared.

Re: Anyone Feel Confident in their abilities to Euro-ify ped

that said i'm curious about euroracking (power too) a rather obtuse distortion pedal (noisy, self oscillating, bananas) and potentially adding some CV control to the knobs. anyone interested in giving a project like this a shot? Panelizing a pedal is really easy. I would recommend you whip up a pan...

Not what you're asking for, but if I have plastic shafts that fit too tight, I'll take a dremel to them a little and give the knob more precious freedom.

My previous post marked "deleted" was because I never received my low dollar value order (something like $30-40 IIRC). I asked about it, they apologized and said they'd resend/fix, but I told them to hold up because I could use some more one-offs. Long story short, I didn't respond to them again, bu...

There's a handful of reasons why no analog polysynths. 1) They're difficult to tune. Everyone that has a modular synth, especially diy folks, has the ability or option to do poly. Analog vcos are difficult to stay in tune for musical stuff. Contrarily, it's as much or more fun to modulate in scale d...

Do they just need to be panel mount, knurled, smaller than 16mm? Or something else? Both digi and mouser have versions of the rk09 or ptv09 or whatever they are that have knurled shafts.

This is an engineering question, and to understand the answer, you need to be an engineer. Even though I understand and would much prefer the correct setup, my setup as it stands *gasp* includes flying bus cables. Yet, I keep them to around 4-5 connections and then tie them to thicker traces. So, I'...

Can confirm the sentiments above. I also have tried most readily available methods. I would say hot plate is superior to hot air. Yet, the time you'll waste spreading paste over just getting good technique down for hand soldering is significant. I would say: air/plate/oven + stencils or auto paste d...

fugue machine and fiddlewax pro are my two favorite apps for this sort of thing.

Fiddlewax pro is probably exactly what you're asking for. The beauty of it also is that you can use it as a quick music theory scratch pad that also functions as a sort of midi sampler. really cool.

Are your LM13700 actual, real lm13700 from a legit supplier? Tayda (etc) lm13700 are error prone and sketchy to say the least. Only buy real lm13700 for synth diy.

If you have the schematic, it might be time to start cutting traces. It wouldn't be the first time a bit of stray copper kept something from functioning properly.

.... if you've reflowed and/or replaced every part in question that is.

The answer to every form of this question: How much do you value your time? PCB + Panel = you will waste lots of time checking datasheets, ordering parts incorrectly, ordering from multiple different vendors (I could go on). Full Kit = No parts sourcing issues, but minimal savings vs a complete modu...
