Re: 3.5mm TRS to DinSync wiring?

The keystep (which is what I plan on using for converting MIDI to DinSync) only has a single (3.5mm) input for Sync OUT, so I don't understand how that would be the case.

3.5mm TRS to DinSync wiring?

I'm trying to make a TRS to DinSync (Sync24) cable and I can't find anything about the correct wiring for such a cable. I know that DinSync uses pins 1,2, and 3, but its not clear which pins Tip and Ring should be wired too (Sleeve seems to be pin 2).

Re: uO_c 8hp ornament and crime.

Are there any equivalents that can be used for the TT encoders? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/858-EN11-HSM1BF20

They are out of stock and won't be back in stock until August.

Re: Best cheap stereo mixer module?

I'm looking for a stereo mixer module, which has 4-6 mono inputs and outputs the mix as stereo. Basically I want to avoid having to lug around my BOSS BX-600 as much as I love the thing. Bonus points if it can also mix CV signals. The 6Mix was recommended to me by analoguehaven: http://www.happyner...

Re: Circuit Monostation vs Launch Pad Pro MK3 for Sequencing Duties?

As in modular, there is the option of "one box per function" vs combined thingies. I prefer things that do less tasks better, because sooner or later I always got annoyed by the jacks of all trades. Again, not bashing the monostation, it may work for you. I just find the LPP a better fit now and in...

Circuit Monostation vs Launch Pad Pro MK3 for Sequencing Duties?

Guys, I'm very financially strapped right now and business has slowed down (synth repairs). But I need some type of sequencer considering I sold my Pyramid. I have a hybrid setup, with several rack/keyboard synths as well as a modest euro setup: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/992480 The mo...

Adding CV to Solidex Video Editor/Enhancer

I've got a Solidex Excel 200 on the bench. Looking to bend it, but also make it compatible with modular so I can feed it LFOs and what not. I was going to go off this guide: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3AZujHP3Jl560J%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fglitchart.com%2Fdiy-telegraph-mini%2F%20&...

Anyone familiar with configuring the Mutant Brain?

I want to play my modular with a keystep (or really any midi keyboard for that matter). But as it is out of the box, I can't play it as such. When playing a sequence of notes, it typically doesn't register all notes, ignoring subsequent notes after the first note. Is this something I have to change ...

Should I keep my Squarp Pyramid?

I no doubt like alot of things about it. But I don't use half its features. I've had it for maybe 8 months and have barely done more than sequence a handful of 2 bar loops. Since I went down the modular rabbit hole about a month ago, it seems a bit more necessary. But I find I'm so much more efficie...

Did not like these two at all. DU-KRPLS and the other. You have to be a major fan of Karplus-Strong to like it i think. You can get one or two cool sounds, but that will get boring quick. Something like Akemie's Taiko is way more fun and versatile. But tbh it's not instant great sounding either, yo...

Yeah I read elsewhere that the video you linked is indeed the KARP. Funny, because I initially though I liked the DU-KRPLS better, then changed my mind after i found that out.

Thoughts on the Meng Qi Karp?

Is it good for fm type percussion sounds? Sort of like Akemie's Taiko? This demo is making me want to check it out:

Its possible most of the mojo in this demo is the Dave Smith feedback module.

NLC DOOF Drum? Anyone use it?

I see only one short demo of it on youtube and can't tell if its mostly the doof or BadumTiss and bong0 making the sounds. Synthcube's got a sale going on and I kinda want to scratch my drum itch.

Huge, huge shouts out go to the Doepfer slim quad LFO. I had the big Doepfer quad LFO (A-143-3) which was wonderful to use, and i have no complaints about it, except that it's a fatty and not the most economical use of hp. If you're not worried about HP, doubt you can do better than the Doepfer A-1...

Quadnic vs Qu-bit Chord (v2)

I've been dreaming about the quadnic since I tried it out at Analogue Haven. But just watched some demos of the qu-bit chord and it sounds very good and quite similar. Prob bc they are both wavetable.

Being a key/piano player, the chord makes alot of sense to me.

Best dual/quad lfo out right now?

Can never have too much modulation? Amirite? I’ve got an elby utility lfo that’s pretty nice but too big for my small case. So I’ve alrwsfy started looking at various lfos. The doepfer stuff looks relatively good (A-145-4, which seems a bit limited too) and so does the MFB Dual LFO. Looking for a br...

Befaco VC ADSR

I just built this module. Just when I thought I had a fully working build, my module never seems to go into the "release" stage. Given what was posted here on MW in another thread, I figured it was due to connector pins shorting the pot. The connector is directly on the other side of the board from ...

Interesting; I think I've found a flaw in the design of the VC ADSR DIY module. Hopefully the following helps someone else encountering this! TLDR version: Fit tape to the underside of the ADSR sliders, on the metal arms in the middle that hold the base of the pot on. Or, sit the sliders up as high...

As a cautionary tale to anyone building these - if your ADSR turns on, but only the attack LED lights up and nothing else works, you might, like me, have done something a little daft.
