Re: DIY plug-out synth

fwiw i just got myself an ASUS PN40, which is a tiny 12x12x5cm mini pc, completely passive = dead silent, hosting a celeron quad core 2,4ghz CPU, including SSD and RAM it was 300 EUR. there are i3/i5 options too for 100-150 extra. (PN60) if you buy RAM/SSD seperately and install yourself, you can sa...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

thanks boss. i am really confused how the tiptop and erica fv1 modules still rank above FX aid on schneiders laden popularity. seems like people are still sleeping on this, not only the most well thought out but also the most affordable option. i am about to order 2 more, you don't sell direct @Igor...

Re: Could anyone recommend a lasercutter?

just wanna add that spraypainted stuff (ie. acrylic, wood, metal) can be really nicely engraved with even cheaper lasercutters, as intended by OP. also there is special two layer engraving acrylic available for this use case, with several color combinations and probably longer lasting than spraypain...

sounds liek a smart plan to me. i am not sure how big the "market" for poly synth diy stuff is, as in not sure how much sense it makes to build a general all-purpose poly controller board. but hey, not trying to knock your enthusiasm down haha. since you seem to be in general conception/planning sta...

Re: Platform for DIY polysynths

aside from the 16 parallel i2c outputs, you might want to look into the axoloti platform for a "mother card"/control board. supplies all the midi i/o you need, preset saving, has convenient LFOs and envelopes that you could send over something like the 20 channel max11300 codec board, or any multich...

Re: No love for the Axoloti DSP Board?

i dont think there are any control boards yet, but i am sure the community will come up with something soon, just like they did on the old axoloti board. it is extremely easy though to just hook up a couple pots and buttons and put it all in a cookie box. also, yeah, the product page does mention tha...

Re: No love for the Axoloti DSP Board?

yeah the library is pretty insane by now, super easy to do FM, wavetable, granular, VA, sampling, looping, sequencers, effects. matter of fact it has all the MI braids oscillators ported, so you could kind build a braids clone for 89$, all you need is a frontplate and drag some virtual patch cables....

Re: No love for the Axoloti DSP Board?

yeah should be compatible with all old objects and projects. i think longterm this is gonna be some kind of hard branch, as the firmware will have to be updated for the new hardware, and i doubt the akso developer will keep it compatible with the old HW. there is a new forum already where i guess a ...

fwiw i recently bought the dremel drill press accessoire and it feel extremely wobbly. in my wood workshop i have this slightly better wabeco stand with a regular euro drill holder but i wouldn't reallly recommend it for somewhat precise frontplate work either tbh https://www.wabeco-remscheid.de/boh...

well you can integrate my proposed teensy+max11300 solution into any formfactor you like... i once made an eurorack module of an axoloti and max11300 with 20 CV/gate 3.5mm jacks on the frontplate.

Re: MIDI - CV options?

any microcontroller (teensy, esp, duino, axoloti) paired with a MAX11300 chip (25$ on the basic dev board), will give you a total of 20x CV/gate in or out, configurable on the fly from 0-10V or -5 to 5v. 12bit resolution of this codec gives a theoretical resolution of iirc 3 cent per bit if you want...

who can give me the manufacturer/series name for these nice aluminum lever switches that, amongst others, are being used by korg for their prologue/minilogue series?

i wanna add to what i said that - i'm happy there's a more affordable version now, for both the prospective users and for waldorf to hopefully make some more mainstream money. - the price difference between quantum and iridium does not seem justifiable to me though. the very least would be for waldo...
