Re: [IC] General Midi (GM) euro module - any interest?

in general i think this is a very interesting idea, but looking at the midi implementation of the sam chip it would kind of a wasted opportunity to not include a little MCU that reads some CVs to alter the sounds. if you just do midi control only, then why have it in a modular surrounding anyways? g...

Re: Where to find RGB button

nice rgb buttons are kind of hard to do in my experience. would also love to know which part intellijel uses here or if its a custom ws2812 build. edit: intellijel employee on their forum says they're custom made. what you wanna search for is "rgb illuminated pushbutton" or "~ tactile switch" https:...

Re: Implementing PolyAT

you can search through the github of the axoloti project, there's full MPE implementation and with that i am sure some poly AT code to be found. https://github.com/axoloti iirc poly AT is just one midi message (#2 ?) with note and "pressure" as data1/data2 respectively. not much i know about your pr...

Re: Analog poly synth (work in progress)

hey man incredible project, PCBs look super neat and i appreciate that you really do everything from scratch! i am also currently building a poly synth, but on a way less low level, basically just patching together a bunch of open source DIY stuff so i won't be of much use when it comes to actual el...

Re: I'm building a synth.

“Empty slots” - no. Space for some tweeters and/or some sort of funnelled output for the main speaker drive units if you’re using full range units. hah the little tangband fullrange you can seee in some of the pictures was originally meant to go in the synth enclosure, but given how much noise i ha...

ok so here's a little update of what i did these past days: - enhanced the frontplate w more encoders, buttons and displays: https://i.imgur.com/4OzQIvm.jpg the empty slots top left and top right are probably gonna be removed. i think i'm at the somewhat final amount of encoders now. need to add som...

pitchbend / mod wheel parts needed

hallo friends, i am looking for some high quality ideas for wheels. currently working with the doepfer ones and they are pretty unsatisfying, both in physical feel and reliability, and even worse in potentiometer readouts... is there anything else ready to buy? or some good DIY ideas? what would be ...

since you mentioned faderfox, here's another german site offering custom controllers: http://www.keyboardmanufaktur.de/ and then there is http://www.tinamilab.com/ and https://yaeltex.com/en/ http://midicustomshop.com/ no personal experience with either though... also i am sure you can find a lot of...

Re: I'm building a synth.

Thanks for the kind words, @lemmy i had the LEDs assembled by elecrow. i once soldered a single SMD IC and i'm pretty sure that was my one and only lifetime experience. also the sheer amount would have taken me months to manufacture without a pick and place machine etc. regarding bleed through, i wa...

I'm building a synth.

Hey guys So end of march last year I started building a rather big digital poly synth with a couple of analog effects. Nobody asked so sorry for the endless novel, but with the twelvemonth coming closer I figured it would be a good time to start documenting my build a little bit, for others to possi...

Re: Need help with building a CV to OSC Raspberry Pi gadget!

fwiw on my old tests running the max11300 with the axoloti STM32 MCU, i got real life output refresh rates of around 3ksps, while only 5 or 6 of the outputs were connected/configured. this also converges with the refresh rate of my source signal in axoloti though so this might be the actual limit i ...

just a quick opinion - i used bourns encoders so far mostly for my big synth diy project but realized a while ago that the (pin compatible, luckily) ALPS versions have a much nicer, sturdier feel to them. compare samples before you do a big order. ps. in music applications ie. midi you might also wa...

another cheap ish idea is to go to guitar pedal diy zone and just pick some booster kits from there, definately enough aplification.. and if you want you can pick from a million different pre-amp circuit colours.
