I'm a sucker for marimba music. Have always wanted a real wood one (had an yamaha synthetic one once). Alas, they are more expensive than I could possibly justify.

Re: Does anyone use Propellerheads Reason?
I have spent so much time and money on Reason over 20 years I can't even add it up. To it's credit I can still open song files from 2001. But sadly there's so much that needed to be improved over the years, that I feel I should have moved on from it a long time ago. I still use it to record my euro...

Re: Korg Wavestate
new Wavestate SE they should use the extra panel space to develop the UI instead of leave this large blanks wavestate-SE_slant.png All of the controls should have been moved all the way to the left, with the joystick right around where the Korg logo is, above the mod/pitch wheels. And the teeny tin...

Gonna be a Greek fest for me soon. Just scored a Dreadbox Hypnosis and Erebus 3 from a fellow Wiggler. This will need to be it for awhile as I was a bit too generous to myself in 2020. 2021 will be a "let's get real here" year.

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite
When I acquired my Mirage it had a Gotek drive in it. The previous owner said that the Mirage was “flaky”. Indeed. I could never suss out the drive from the flakiness and where the overlap was. Besides, I have a bad neck and the New drive location was an ergonomic nightmare, bend to side, try to re...

Re: RIP Chick Corea
What a sad day for music lovers of all kinds. Chick Corea was one of the last piano legends that I had hoped to experience live someday... It is always sad when people pass away. But with artists of this magnitude, there is the extra layer of all this creative energy and genious just being gone for...

Update - solved. Had a nice couple of emails from Jacek from Polyend. I apparently wasn’t following the sequence to ‘reflash’ the firmware. Great to have this baby operational again.

Synthezise Loop is under CMD + Wave The Audio-In Disk is Def the one to get. Has the Time-Dicer and Parallel FX Algos. Another one which is very nice is the RezFilter-Disk. Comes with FM-Effects which let you FM samples with them self or other samples. P.S.: I recommend checking out "The Daydream S...

Re: Hardware recorders with overdubbing
My old Roland VS840 8 track works this way. It has 2 stereo inputs, but either can be routed to any pair of tracks. 4 recording tracks are "mono" but these are actually just 2 stereo routed in the mixer as mono and can easily be hard-panned for stereo. The remaining tracks are 2 stereo. Programmabl...

Re: Dreadbox Medusa monosynth
Anyone ever have an issue with their Medusa not booting up? Mine appears to be a big paperweight. I just sent a ticket to Polyend Support. Just wondering if there’s anything to try in the meantime. Thanks.

I read that the Strega is taller than the others. Maybe you’ve already factored that in?

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite
Yup, lotharek. Works like a charm. Yeah, worked great on my Mirage. Interestingly, it also helped me wrap my head around the arcane sample assignment method because each preset already had three U/L sounds. Anyone put a Gotek in their Mirage? Or had power supply issues when using the Gotek or Lotha...

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite
I own both the SQ-80 and a Mirage. Mirage has been in the shop for ages (Covid and unexplained issues). I scored my SQ-80 for 100 bux from a kindly gentleman who just wanted it gone to make space. The first time I had my Mirage operational and was playing with preset disks I was beaming from ear to ...

I think if I had the kind of money to get a new original, I would and it would be the coolest thing ever. I’d be pinching myself. Not being near that financial position, if I was inclined, I’d get the B version, and it would be the coolest thing ever. Stand in coolest thing ever. I’d be pinching mys...
