Re: erica synth DIY Polivoks VCO mouser cart

6mm per the calipers Thanks. I have a feeling that I'll order the CK1044 if I can find it cheaper than mouser so I can see. (I've got a lot of 6.35mm knobs laying about.) The datasheet says the flat part of the flat shaft on the imperial sizes starts 8mm up, so maybe room for a screw there. Datashe...

Re: erica synth DIY Polivoks VCO mouser cart

We bought one to check it- 105-CK1049-- it is indeed a round shaft . The shaft will have to be cut to length for your knob choice (its about 1-5/8" long past the threads) Also you'll have to limit it to the 5 positions required for the build... its natively a 1P12T (12 position) switch. When you ta...

Re: Attribution, conflicted...

I would put it your attribution in smaller type on the front and whatever you want on the back for whomever builds or repairs to see. Also ask Soma of course.

(I'm hoping to be build one in the future and want to use your panel, I think.)

Re: erica synth DIY Polivoks VCO mouser cart

interesting, so the link product description reads' flat shaft' but the datasheet shows round shaft? Has anyone determined the values for BOM items marked 'NU' for example R17, R24, R52, C24? (we assume NOT USED until someone says otherwise :) ) I find mouser product descriptions to be frequently i...

Re: DIY Power Cables: Nifty IDC Crimper Alternative

I use a small table vice I picked up for a dollar at a yard sale. I've made about 30 cables with it without issue, but I have to be careful. I thought a table vice was the way to go until this thread.

Aaand I should probably increase the led resistor values a little bit as well :omg:
I ran into the same issue with ultra bright LEDs... I used 47k to tame them back. Lucky the resistors can be swapped out with hot air quickly as they are at the edge of the board and easy to get to.

Re: HELP! Eurorack DIY disaster (mutables)

'm a novice as well, but it sounds like there was a short to ground on the uOC that knocked the other modules out. (So always, always do a continuity check on module power headers before plugging them in.) the uOC uses diptrace... so open it up there, and next to 'design manager' you can see there's...

Re: Getting rid of effects modules and using vsts instead

I got into eurorack because I had tons of vsts and hated the split between midi knobs and what's going on on screen. I spent 2 decades with that frustration. Now I love the effects I have in the rack, even though there's a bit of menu diving with some of them, so I have to keep a printed sheet nearb...

Re: erica synth DIY Polivoks VCO mouser cart

Now that I've taken a look at the Gerbers, I can see that the v3 boards have been completely redesigned and the switch actually plugs into the main board and fits through the control board. This one, I think: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Lorlin/CK1049?qs=%2Fha2pyFaduhBP8SlGL6dFFRiVZFCTqRi3XJ...

Anyone know a source for the switch ? It’s called SR1712F_ROT_SW on the bom Is this it? I haven’t looked at the gerber to check the footprint... https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Alpha-Taiwan/SR1712F-0106-20F0A-N9-N-027?qs=8%252Br4Hz5Xir9r0VM8XweXgw== Thanks! Re: uO_c 8hp ornament and crime.

You may be able to get M3 or M2.5 nuts from a local hardware store. (I've found them at Home Depot in the states.) I already tried to do that myself but I didn’t succeed at buying the right parts so if someone can point me at exactly the parts to buy for that aspect of the build, I’d be grateful. I ...

Re: Best first SMD build?

If you can do the uOC, you can do the Dust of Time. The DoT needs M2 hardware for the screen, and I've made a lengthy post on the uOC screen and how to best fit it. For both I'd advice setting the male and female headers into the teensy and standing it up straight on the board and then tacking the m...

I remember studying this thread last year for things I could build.

Now I have
3 Rings (was 4)
2 Peaks and
2 Piques with 3 more almost done. (Different color leds on them.)
2 Shades
2 Links
3 uOC (1 stock firmware, 2 Hemispheres)
2 Ripples

I built a Benjolin 2 months ago. When you dial it in just right and send the outputs into other things and then back in, you'd better stuff wax in your ears, sailors, and strap yourself to the mast. Did you build it from a kit? Or can you point me To your Source. I built forestcaver's smd version. ...

I've got a patch going right now where I'm using the Burst to send out clock pulses to a Grids, using the distribution at nearly center to give it some swing. It's simple and lovely.
