Re: Post pics of your modular/studio setup!

Hey there! It looks like you have an RJ45-CAT5/6 transport connector module which I presume goes to the light side rack you mention. How does that work for you? Is crosstalk in the cable an issue you have to manage, or is it a non-issue for you? I'm going to be doing the same thing with many of the...

Re: At what rate is the Eurorack market growing?

On the one hand, we're all going to have too much time on our hands for now. On the other hand, professional and semi-professional musicians are screwed. My situation exactly (more time on my hands, not the musician part). With no outside leisure activities there's a bit more time for music, but al...

Re: What are your goals when it comes to modular synthesis?

This is what modular has done to my brain. I was flying home last night and started listening to the jet engines at takeoff. Rich harmonics. Lovely modulation. Just a great oscillator. Now my goal this weekend is to build an ambient patch as an homage to passenger jet engines. Probably sounds as bad...

Doepfer A-111-4. Versatile, big sound for multi-voice patches. Dirt cheap on a per-VCO basis.

Agreed. One of the first new modules I bought. It's always useful. I like the Supercritical Demon Core with expander. I like the SE Quadnic, though it's not very user-friendly.

Re: What are your favourite Doepfer modules ?

Love the A-111-2, the A-111-4, the Matrix Mixer, love the sequential switch and the A-178, but the module I can't live without is the A180-9 Multicore. It connects my cases and gave me the flexibility to adapt to the space I have available.

Re: Behringer Roland System 100 clone

I get that behringer mass producing cheap stuff is an inevitability, but it leaves a sour aftertaste that it's always someone elses work originally. Make your own modules, dammit. Also not a big fan of the size, OR the multiple sub-modules per module. A lot of these could be broken into three 8hp m...

Re: Behringer Roland System 100 clone

For a year I've been telling people interested in modular to "go buy a Neutron" and play with it for a month. But after today's announcement I'm going to tell them the same thing. A Neutron and an SQ-1 is still a cheaper way to learn all the basics than buying a complete set of these things.

I thought the premise of Zoia was that you can keep adding modules until the processor maxes out? Does it have a strict LFO limit? Or is that new to euroburo?

I just wanted to play the piano without kids complaining that they were trying to do homework, So I started researching keyboards, and I saw this thing called a "Rack Brute" - then I wanted to know what was supposed to go into the brute. What is this stuff? Why is it so expensive? What do people do ...

The Matriarch is a difficult product to understand in terms of price, size and function, but I'm sure Moog knows its market better than I do.
