Re: Erica Black Spring Reverb

I'm looking at pruchasing an external reverb tank for this module from the below website, which one would suit this module? I assume the parameters to consider are the input and ouput impdeneces and the decay time? https://www.evatco.com.au/reverb-tanks/ The Erica website says input impedance shoul...

Re: Which module compatible with Belton BMN3AB3D1B Spring?

From the code it looks like the input impedance on that tank is 10 ohms, which I think is too low to work with most eurorack spring reverb modules, other than perhaps the one you mentioned. Edit: it looks like it should work with the Erica Synths Spring Reverb. There may be others, I don't know. Tan...

I don't think anyone has made an AC-coupled VCA in Euro.
There are some that are switchable between AC and DC-coupled, or that have separate AC and DC-coupled inputs, for example the Oakley Classic VCA. I have a used one for sale on Reverb if anyone is looking.

Re: Frequency Shifter

As I've said before in other, similar threads, I'm a big fan of the DACS Freque II. It's an analog rackmount rather than Eurorack, but can easily interface with Eurorack, sounds great, has it's own internal oscillators AND accepts external oscillators, has two audio inputs, separate UP and DOWN outp...

Re: Spring Reverb Comparison 2020

The Metasonix R-56 is worth mentioning, although I don't think you can find them new anymore. I have that and the Befaco, I like them both. The Befaco is a little more "controllable" when it comes to feedback in my experience. Had the Springray V2 at one point, it didn't click with me so I sold it.

Everyone should have a bunch of controllers in their rigs.

Re: Which Joystick brings you joy?

I have both the Befaco and Choices, right next to each other, and I like them both. Love the feel of the Befaco, reminds me of an old Atari joystick, but of course if you want to be able to leave the joystick in a non-zero position then it's not the right "Choice(s)".

Re: How do you organize your rack?

To the extent mine is organized I'd say it's down to 1/5 function, 1/5 aesthetics, 1/5 power requirements, 1/5 separating modules that interfere with each other, and 1/5 what will fit where.

I have 8 of them, one had a hole that was drilled too small, and I think I may have noticed a misaligned hole on another one. I haven't seen any with bent sides.

Re: 4ms Pods

Has anyone ever found a good way to keep 2 pods together? I have a 64X and 34X pod that I would like to have attached somehow but I can figure out a good way of doing it. I may result to just getting a shallow box they both can sit in, but figured I'd ask here first. Just use double-sided tape. Thi...

Re: DAWless Eurorack Recording -- how do you do it, recorder recommendations?

Yeah I record on my PC as well but generally with Audacity or OBS instead of a DAW. I may use a DAW eventually but so far I haven't felt the need. For now I've just been mic'ing my Peavey amp and the mic goes into the Scarlett interface on my PC.

Re: Mounting Row Power 25 within wooden side of case?

ok thanks, looks simple enough! Are those the only heat sink those power modules have in your rack then (as the rails they are mounted on are not metal)? And I presume they are sufficient in your set up? Yes, they've been sufficient for me. Like I said I also ended up putting heat sinks on two othe...

thanks. how/where did you attach the power module to the heatsink? I used this tape to attach the heatsink: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FR45DV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here's a photo that shows where I attached it: https://i.ibb.co/1r5zXk3/IMG-20200217-201310-b.jpg

Re: Mounting Row Power 25 within wooden side of case?

I have mounted uZeus power supplies outside of a case on 3d printed rails, and I used these heat sinks to help dissipate the heat: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CVTHZ6W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They've worked well for me, in fact, I ended up putting one on each of the...

Re: from the case to the plate :)? One take wonder?

Sure, why not? It's no more difficult than recording yourself playing piano or guitar. The link in my signature is one example. Granted it's less than a minute long but there's no reason you can't record longer tracks. Also there is free, easy to use software like Audacity that lets you multi-track ...

Where the Z-DSP works for me is as a big component of a single sound source - preferably in a patch that focuses on a single evolving sound or at most 2 or 3 sounds. It can almost work as a sound source on its own, especially with the Spring Waves card.
I definitely second this.

Definitely. Two off the top of my head are the Avon Synth (mine goes up to ~57kHz according to my scope) and the Behringer Neutron (up to ~50kHz).
