Back in 1995 I traded a Polysix, Juno-106 and CS-20m for a just released, brand new Korg Prophecy.

I may have you beat on that one!! I got my brand new Korg Prophecy also in 1995 by trading....

Re: What the well-dressed synthesist is wearing...

I’m constantly wearing graphic tees (and I’m 45 years old), but believe it or not, there’s a reason! I work with kids. Do you think I’m going to work in a button down? Hell no. I need something that can easily rip, can get various bodily fluids on, and above all is comfy. Perhaps instead of immediat...

Re: Layer / merging sounds in a DAW like older synths and samplers

Why not record multiple layers of your sound source, and pan them around. Put a bit of phasing on one, a bit of chorus on the second one. Mix those 2 quieter than the rest of the patch. Do you have a sampler vst? Once you make your sound, sample it. Usually sampling provides the glue to stick it all...

Re: Modules that "Fascinate"?

I received an Instruo/Divkid ochd in the mail last night (thanks for the heads up to the user who mentioned DM still had them in stock). I also got a Batumi very recently. For a good while there, I was in serious need of more modulation sources. And they're both fantastic. I've really enjoyed using...

Re: Modules that "Fascinate"?

Monsoon. It will have me just in tears with how beautiful it can get. And then it will sound like robot chickens copulating with struggling chimps. I love it. Elements- again, it can do so much. It’s cliche, but when it’s not, it’s even more spectacular. I can just sit with these two modules, and bu...

I love that you did it in your work truck. Bonus points for sure!! I’d take the points but it certainly has more to do with how well designed it is! Blacet was one of the FIRST sites I drooled over some years ago when I first learned about modular synths, I’m thrilled to finally take the plunge! Fa...

I’m typing this while listening to my wogglebug doing some seriously weird shit to my modular in the studio. I quite enjoy my Wogglebug, and the amount of random it’s capable of. Seriously fantastic module.

Re: Why do people subscribe to using a format that likely makes it more difficult for them to be creative?

I’ve never even gone near it. thats smart. im super sober now but at one pointed I literally unloaded almost all of gear to “fund” it. it was fun until it stopped being fun. :spin: Congrats on being sober man! That can be a long hard road. I drink beer, and once a year a stop drinking for 2 weeks j...
