Re: Analog four as primary sequencer?

I use it almost exclusively for this purpose. The reason is that I've programmed so many melodies into this thing over the past year that the functions for doing so are like an extension of my body, and I can focus only on the note sequence. It's great for composing very long, evolving sequences, bu...

Just all improvised. There’s rarely any “songs” from albums in their live sets. And if there are, they’re usually morphed and tweaked beyond recognition.

Hi guys, does anyone know what the first track is called here? Lasts for a long time, can't get enough.

LP5 shredded me to bits the first time I heard it and still does to this day. Great disc.

Re: Autechre

I was thinking about it as well, but I would guess it's because of what you get used it. If people didn't have such an open attitude towards things, not just music, but in general, like exploration, genres, etc. it becomes harder by age to accept new things. And it is especially true for artists li...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

also, how is the reverb on this? that is pretty important for my setup, as i can't use a VST for an individual synth yet. I'd have to get a another audio interface.... edit: ahh... i just realized that my setup with the iridium wouldn't work... because i need the audio to go into the modular anyway ...

Re: Waldorf Iridium

well, this synth seems really cool and it's pretty much what i need, even though i posted earlier that i wouldn't buy one, i'm still considering it. I just hate setting up midi from the modular soooo much... and there are only 5 cv inputs. I'm not complaining about this, many standalone synths have ...

Re: FM feedback (what is it and how do i do it)

In a string of operators which are in an FM chain, feedback is taking the output of any of the operators (often the one acting as carrier) and feeding it back to any of the operators FM inputs (often the first one in the chain). You’ll want a VCA in the path to give voltage control of the amount of...

FM feedback (what is it and how do i do it)

subject is pretty self-explanatory. I'm not sure how FM feedback works, i.e. what is feeding back into what. But i like the way it sounds on the machinedrum and Akemie's castle. wondering how i can do this with simple FM modules.

Thanks in advance :)

variations on noise / random feedback textures

I have a beast-tek hyper fist and i love the random algorithms for claps / snares because they sound noisy and chunky and really nice through bp filters. i also really like the sound of the X1L3 shard, but i have no idea how it works. I'm wondering how i can use noise / feedback to create these kind...

Re: 104hp Drum Synth Starter

haha i remember when i was like 'ya i'll just do a little drum machine in eurorack'. now my tiny bedroom consists of ~60% synth / audio equipment, ~40% queen-sized bed. i'd recommend getting an external sequencer, like BSP, and some manglers for recorded sequences, like the Shakmat stuff. this route...

Re: What is the worst synth sounding you ever bought and why ?

Rytm, first synth ever bought. loved it at the time, used it for months but damn it's hard for me to get pleasant sounds out of it. Will never use it again, keeping it for sentimental value.

Unless someone wants to buy it and doesnt mind the broken pads / freezing / fucked knobs....

Re: The Elektron Model:Cycles Thread

I just received mine, and I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. Does anyone else find the output volume to be pretty low? Maybe I've just lost a lot of my hearing... I had really high expectations for this -- and I might just need to give it some time -- but I'm considering putting it up on the BS...

if that were my system i would fill the remaining space with modulation sources and maybe another quad VCA. First thing i would get is an NLC Hypster and Blinds.

remember you can't do any 'live' looping/slicing on the Assmil8tor
oh... really? i thought that that is an essential function... then are samples only loaded manually? or do you mean slicing can't be done in an automated way?

Re: Rossum Electro-Music Assimil8or

I'm sure that this has been covered multiple times, but i'm trying to discover the functional differences in live-looping capabilities of the assimil8or and morphagene, and technical differences aside, what might be some reasonable differences in the creative results. Specifically i'm interested in...
