Re: Soma Dvina

Mine arrived too! It showed up in beautiful shape after its long journey, and is truly a beautiful instrument! Just like the Lyra 8, it came packed so well that it took about 20 mins just to unpack it. I truly appreciate that care. The details SOMA creates are so unique and thoughtful like the custo...

Re: Soma Dvina

Hi Whyfarer,

I didn’t get an email. Curious where did that email originate from? Soma, Russian EMS, Poland postal service, USPS?

Thanks!

Re: Soma Dvina

Just saw that my long, long awaited DVINA is marked as shipped on this site: https://www.pochta.ru Bought it from SOMA early April, it was built, then shipped May 21st, but due to COVID-19 it was re-routed through Poland where is has been stalled ever since. No direct shipments were going through to...

KOMA Field Kit FX Easter Egg

Anyone find it? Supposedly a Phaser? Had mine for quite a while now and haven’t stumbled into anything. Info from KOMA: "The Field Kit FX Frequency Shifter has a special Phaser mode. Built as an easter egg you just have to find it! The Amount Control becomes the Rate Control of the Phaser and the Si...

Thanks for listening/looking, over dada.
I made the music first and animated the videos to the music. The animations and their narratives were improvised while making them and driven by what I imagined the sounds depticted.

Thanks Existential. It’s 2 different peoples voices, mine pitch shifted up first, then a friend of mine second, her voice is used in the later part of the recording and is pitch shifted down. I’m using the voice transformer on the Roland Sp-808. I use to have a Boss VT-1 voice transformer years ago....

The Sky and the Ocean

Voice, synthesizer and field recording. The writing comes from my exercises in circadian rhythms... altered sleep-wake cycles to use my physiology as a way of connecting with the unconscious.

Finishing music

I’m reading this book on my kindle: “making music: 74 creative strategies for electronic music producers” by Dennis DeSantis (I think it was $9.99 on Amazon) I’m finding it really helpful! Tons of great advice on getting music projects finished. I’m even gonna do this cheesy “make a record in Februa...

Still wondering about this. Anyone with experience? The Lyra 8 videos I have seen are heavily modulated compare to this Lyra 4 vid. Can the 8 do this sound? (I'm wondering if it's like the micromoog/multimoog where the multi is a souped-up micro, more bells and whistles, but doesn't sound as juicey ...

I have been on the waiting list for an 8 for a long time, but I am really enjoying the sound of this Lyra 4 demo. Can anyone with a Lyra 8 confirm wether or not it can sound like this? The website says the 8 is basically two 4's except the delays interact differently resulting in the 8's more modula...

Hi All,

Wondering if there are any ways to get the rate of the Arpeggiator to sync (or interact in interesting, controlled ways) with the pulser or eg?

Thanks for any tips or info!

Favorite Animation Software suggestions?

Hi All, Wondering what suggestions people have for animation software. Could be 2D or 3D, but what I'm on the search for is the most intuitive, quick, work flow-friendly program. I make animations and process them with video synths, and use analog synths to make the soundtracks. As we all know, in t...
