Re: most orgasmic songs

The Pat Metheny Group with the only studio version I could find on YT - the original is on the Offramp album.

Autumn 20 Equinox

I sat down yesterday evening with the intention of doing something with the Beehive / Plaits chord mode.

Then I started wiggling... :sb:

Re: Attention, Zoom effect pedal owners...

if you're going to do this be sure to read the open issues on the github repo https://github.com/Barsik-Barbosik/Zoom-Firmware-Editor/issues Particularly of note, issues with titles like "Zoom G1on doesn't turn on anymore" Thanks for the heads up - I'll pass that back to my friend. Not sure what pe...

+1 for the Happy Nerding 3x MIA and Disting Mk4. Okay i'll check the Mk4. You don't think it's worth going for the EX? It seems to me that the Spitfire samples and longer reverb are the main upgrade. And of course two Mk4. I already have a lot of Spitfire libraries and will be buying the Rossum Ass...

Re: Small Filters with Character

If you can stretch to 12HP then check out the Vult Freak. 11x different filter models, most with multiple modes. 2x distortion FX. Stereo or Dual modes. In Stereo mode you get separate, CV-able cutoff modulation for each channel, in addition to the main cutoff (also CV-able). In dual mode you get tw...

+1 for the Happy Nerding 3x MIA and Disting Mk4. If you already have Stages and get a 3x MIA plus a Kinks, then think very carefully about whether you need Maths, too, as you will end up spending $200+ and 20HP on replicating functions. On the Logic side: I love my Klavis Logica XT - well worth a lo...

There is a knob and if you make an adjustment on it and nothing seems to happen but i believe it might effect something 15 mins later? I do give it a wiggle every now and then since its there. ...The sloth will... reveal all sorts...

The worst experiences I’ve had are a few modules that reek of cologne or air freshener, but that goes away in a couple of days.
I think it’s vape juice.
Any modules I ever sell will probably smell of incense.

Re: Why buy used at recent market prices?

I guess I haven't really seen it. There's definitely people attempting to sell used for about the same price as new, but those items tend not to sell. For items that actually end up sold, on average I see them priced at about 20-25% off the new price That's my rule of thumb, too; although (as someo...

Re: How many filters do you own/use per xU

I have two Vult Freaks in 6U. However they have a dual mode, meaning I can run up to four different filter types at once if I want; but I usually leave one in stereo and one in dual - so three, most of the time. I have a pair of Disting Mk.4's as well, so I suppose I could stretch to six if I ever n...

Re: Turing Machine vs Permutation vs Marbles

Download VCV Rack (if you haven't already). You can play with the Audible Instruments Random Sampler (Marbles), Turing Machine with pulse expander and Permutation in there, and see which one you gel with best. You won't be able to access some of Marbles' deeper functions, but you'll be able to use m...

I’m delighted to see the increase in CV support on devices that wouldn’t have it a few years ago.

I do wish they’d put the jacks on top, instead of on the back, though. Patching is an active sport.
Amen to that.

Re: Vote now! Eurorack Essential Features Survey 2020

I got three pages into the survey and stopped because every question that far was, in my opinion, pointless. Every Eurorack producer has their own disposition on all these matters, they don’t all match, and that’s ok. That’s Eurorack. This! The questions seemed to be designed by some with an axe to...

Re: Vote now! Eurorack Essential Features Survey 2020

Great question! I would recommend considering your "perfect world" -- don't worry about cost implications for the purposes of this survey. It isn't just about cost, though. If every maker had to write an exhaustive manual before they could release a module, many modules might not be released at all...

Re: Lighting the rack without ruining the vibe

I really like the finger lights idea. A headlamp is more practical and the best way to light your rack though, because it will be lit front on and in line with your vision - so any shadows cast will tend to fall directly behind the object (e.g. cable) being illuminated, making them less obtrusive. O...

As somebody who has only recently started out with modular, I hadn't really thought about 'strategy' until I read this thread; although now that I do, I can see that there are some patterns emerging... Most wiggles at the moment start out with the intention of learning 'something more' - either abou...
