Re: EMS KS. Unobtanium?

We measured the original KS, without the Spartanite case lid. I have unlimited access to one for any additional measurements. Im not sure you are familiar with our work at MEMS but we have replicated almost the entire Buchla lineup including all the rare modules in two years time. Down to period ac...

Re: Aggregate OS X limit and stability

I use three devices (2x MOTU & Eventide H9k) aggregated to one on a daily basis, have done for ages and its always been really solid. However... (it's a big however) that (old) Mac is running Catalina not Big Sur. But I have to get an M1 (or M1X) this year and along with all the changes that will br...

Completely happy with the build quality on mine. Solid as a rock, no loose parts, knobs and sliders smooth as silk. 100% satisfied.

Re: Eurorack reverb recommendations

There are no good Euro verbs. Buy a level adjustment module and a Strymon BigSky or Eventide and call it a day. Well I wouldn't say there are no good Euroack reverbs - the TipTop Z-DSP has some exceptional verb cards, such as Halls of Valhalla. But submute makes a good point... there's very little ...

The H9 sounds great... although the controls are pretty minimal.
But Space is very knobby and hands on and also sounds fabulous.

Re: 1010music Bluebox - Compact Digital Mixer/Recorder

Yes it says that but it doesn't work... there is no latching.
Well no latching that is detected by the Bluebox anyway.
No matter how you configure the Akai editor the buttons only ever function in a momentary action.

Re: 1010music Bluebox - Compact Digital Mixer/Recorder

I already posted this on the 1010 Bluebox forum but it's worth repeating here... I attempted to use an AKAI MIDImix with my Bluebox but was v disappointed with the results. Apart from the cheap feel of the MIDImix faders and controls (especially the super slippery, low profile knobs) none of the bu...

Re: 1010music Bluebox - Compact Digital Mixer/Recorder

I have adaptor cables the same as those Sweetwater types but the plugs are two thick to have more than one inserted. If you try and insert two there's a lot of strain going on with the jack sockets - which could be doing untold damage inside the unit I guess. It's a shame because they are nice adapt...

Re: Behringer VCS3

Has anyone else noticed how the scale of the BVCS3 looks off compared to an actual EMS VCS3?
It's difficult to gauge the size of it without any reference points but either those knobs are really big or the cabinet is pretty small... compared to an original.

Here's a still from the movie, one of many shots of Cosey playing her TUTTI BOX 2D modular... "channeling Delia across time". In this photo she is manipulating her Instruo Lúbadh stereo looper (a beta version, without the CV expander) which was used a lot on the soundtrack. http://www.coseyfannitutt...

2) Color coded for length. This color is the longest, this the shortest, etc. (This is the weirdest *to me* - I hang mine so can see the lengths easy) That would probably be me then... but only because all my shortest cables happen to be either those little yellow Doefer ones or the short TipTop gr...

Re: Individual module....dedicated power switch ?

I think it's a great idea. I had to do exactly this and build two dedicated power switch panels as it was literally the only solution to my module problems. I have an AD Dub Jnr mk2 and a Roland 572 module neither of which will boot up when my cabinets are switched on, unless I continually switch on...

Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C

Yes those Peli cases are amazing. I've had that one for 10 years (or more), it's been all over the world and apart from looking a little scruffy it is still perfectly intact and protects as well as when I first got it. The foam is actually from another larger Peli and are solid pieces cut to fit. I ...
