There's not really much of a functional difference between Sidrax and Tetrax. The Tetrax's global frequency inputs/knobs each affect only rise or fall, instead of both. The color coding of the jacks is identical.

I overlooked this on the Deerhorn page:

You must always tune the response first, so that the two leds cross each other at a comfortable range from the antenna. Fine tuning is done with the top knob.

What does the knob below the two white jacks do? It seems to have some effect on the "decay" of the upper Deerhorn for me, but maybe that is a false reading since my hand is typically activating that one while I tweak the knob. Thanks!

I like to think of the X and Y Snake channels as derived from the clocks of the Cartesian channel, rather than the other way around. I always start with the C channel, and once I have something I like going on there, the other ones fall into place around it.

Accurate definitions or no, it's stupid to tell people they need to learn a bunch of vocab before they get to patch a synth.

The Pan circuits are linear, or close to it. We extensively tried a number of configurations and this one sounded by far the best and most dramatic when modulated, which is the main reason for voltage controlled panning. As mdoudoroff notes this is likely better for use with CV as well.
