I recently repaired an SRM, which uses the same trimmers. I replaced them with top adjust multi-turn trimmers that I had in stock, which I attached by bending the legs into position, and using extra bits of wire to extend them as needed. I insulated the legs and wires with sleeving, and I also paint...

I'm not aware of any official 1U utility strip from Wiard, at least not announced publicly. Is there one? There is indeed! It just isn’t on the website yet. I’ve only really announced it on social media, and have told customers who were ordering a controller about it, because it’s really an accesso...

Re: Confession time - processing audio

ok, I have used synths other than a couple of goes in the 80s I have never processed audio through them. I'd like to do that now but frankly I don't understand it and so I'm worried I might damage something. Is it ok to patch things like a microphone, a guitar pedal output or a tape machine directl...

you should do an internet perusal of SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS synthesizers, the american uncial font used on those is the same as or very similar to that used on Wiard modules. I use EDDA CAPS for my DIY modules that I make to match in somewhat with my Wiard modules, sometimes I wish I'd used speedball ...

Here's one of mine that I built to use as a compact motorbike-transportable synth, and have used at several gigs. It's an Evenfall Mini Modular and a 311C installed in a funky old trumpet case (procured from eBay) that I removed the innards from and modified by replacing the hinges with lift-off one...

Re: Acceptable input voltages

The kenton manual says the voltages are +/- 12.6 volts - is that ok to connect? Hi Mark, The 300 Series modules expect a (nominally) 10V gate, and 0-10V CVs. 12.6V should be totally fine, with one isolated exception that I can think of off the top of my head. Sequantizers which have not been modded...

Hi there,

Actually, that is an early module, and that is original wiring (that's the way Grant did it on the first batch or two). Those wires are creating the pre-patch, so not a good idea to remove them. Unless you *really* want to...

Everything in the middle (mults and mixers) would be of use, and the holes for the 311C switches and jacks could be repurposed if one wanted. Happy to do semi-custom builds of these (within reason).

I can confirm that these are available to order now, but they aren't up on the website yet. (Website update coming as soon as I have a little bit of time!) There have been many requests for a non-DIY solution for the 311C mods, so there it is (plus mixers, and mults). They are priced at £150 and com...

Just wanna double check, the 311C is 2u high right? Yes, 2U. And how slow do the LFOs go? Can they do crazy slow, like one cycle per 15 mins to an hour etc? They go really slow. They do vary a little from one unit to the next, but a several-minute cycle is normal. There is an adjustment to set the ...

Don't see why they wouldn't. Not as pretty as round head ones, but they are the right size, so you ought to be fine.

Re: screws for the blue rack frames?

that's lovely if I've ruined the holes though. Hopefully they are OK; it's definitely still worth trying the right screws to see. If not, please get in touch and I'm sure I can come up with a solution to fix the bars by either re-tapping them or drilling out to a larger size. There are options! In ...

Re: screws for the blue rack frames?

Sorry - I'm kind of clueless when it comes to stuff like this.... when I got my system, no screws were sent with it, so I 'punted' and used some eurorack screws, which don't fit very well at all. Can someone possibly link me to some that I can order, that will actually fit the case well? I'd apprec...

BTW Cary, when I try to clock the WB from the old 311's gate buttons, this only works the first time after making the connection, contrary to clocking from e.g. the Borg LFOs. I.e. I get no woggling from the second push onwards. Is there a way to amend this? If you mean the Step Clock input, That's...

Can't speak for others, but in my WFCs from Cary the switch/ push-pull pot changes the slew limiter slopes. Not the VCA response. Yes, I can confirm that to my knowledge this is correct in all cases, unless someone has modded or changed the actual VCA. Any switch can be connected to the appropriate...
