Re: cv ocd

Thanks for the quick reply.
Would a Roland UM One Mk2 work as well? There’s a local supplier who has in stock but I read that some people had issues due to active sensing

Re: cv ocd

Hi all! I just bought a new CV.OCD and now just realised that my audio interface does not seem to have a MIDI out - so having some trouble figuring out how to transfer Sysex files to reconfigure the box. My interface is a MOTU 8A for what it's worth. I also have an Elektron Model Cycles but doubt i ...

Re: Playable Sequencer

Thanks for the detailed explanation! Agree that pattern switching does feel a bit awkward. Even though i have only had 3 weeks of experience with Elektron, i've had a fair share of situations where tracks fell out of sync. Other than that i am quite happy with Elektron's sequencing abilities.

Re: Playable Sequencer

Westlicht Performer. It’s a bit divey, and a bit deep. I’m still working with it at quite a surface level, tbh, but the potential is there, no doubt. I second this. It's more playable than an elektron sequencer, that is westlicht got everything right where elektron didn't. It's got transposition, n...

Re: Westlicht PER|FORMER Sequencer (DIY)

Does anyone know whether the Performer allows for micro timing on sequences? I had a look through the manual and get impression that notes must be quantised to the grid?

there's nothing special about the cables. These are the same thing I have in the shop https://www.amazon.de/AZDelivery-Jumper-Arduino-Raspberry-Breadboard/dp/B07KYHBVR7/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=0.1%22+jumpers&qid=1596479456&sr=8-10 Thanks for the pointer. I’ll make sure to grab a few of these....

I’m really interested in getting one of these. By any chance would anyone know from where I could buy an I2C cable to connect to an ER-301? European vendors preferable

Re: Need advice for building an ambient system!

I would suggest adding a Pamela’s New Workout in your system. It had a ton of functions including random signals, quantised clock events, and now also logic that makes it an excellent companion

Re: Recommended CV Source

Thanks for the tip on the cascade and 4tten. Will check them out too. The 4tten is very appealing indeed though need to think if 0 - 5v range will be enough for me. Why wouldn't 0-5v be enough? Most CV signals are either -5 > +5v or 0 - 5v. There does seem to be an aassumption that modules need ±10...

I’m also looking for something similar to MI shades or a Triplett but only have 5HP left. Any ideas of what could be a reasonable option? The important thing is that it has a cv source even with nothing plugged into the input jacks. I have been thinking of the Ladik u80, WMD SPO or maybe the upcomin...

Re: Piston Honda MKIII dual morphing wavetable oscillator

I personally only have the PH MKIII from IME, so I will not argue that i'm some authority on their line up. What i can say is that the build, sound quality and feature set are quite impressive to me. True that the buttons and small knobs wobble slightly, but no anymore than buttons on Malekko, Xaoc ...

Re: disting mk4 fw4.15

I’m having an issue with the Disting MK4 that’s driving me up the wall. Basically I have a varigate that is sequencing an ER-301. Separately I have the disting set up as an effect on Plaits. For some odd reason, the algorithm on Disting changes whenever I recall presets 3 or 4 on the Varigate. Any i...

personally would put the blank panel on. I don’t think heat is such an issue for eurorack. You will eventually get excess dust on the power board which can cause higher noise levels as far as I know.

Re: O|D ER-301: Sound Computer (Available Now!)

Just added a People’s Choice panel for the ER-301 on modulargrid. Seeing my module in another panel type was really testing my OCD traits 😄 I appreciate it. But seeing my People's Choice panel not screwed down at all is testing my nerves ... ;) Blacked out the screws. You can sleep at ease now ;)
