Re: Semi-weighted keyboard synth also as controller?

I think my all-time favorite is the Ensoniq SQ-80...like the ESQ-1 plus aftertouch.

Re: MPC Live II availability/impressions?

I have the One and the CV stuff is real easy to setup and use, a killer feature is the abilty to setup a keygroup with auto multi sampling of your patch enabling a pseudo way to save it once set. Or just sample and chop for drums or loops in clip tracks etc. Build a full library of modular noodling...

Re: MPC Live II availability/impressions?

For me, battery power is absolutely the killer feature! I like the idea of the speaker, too—I'd been contemplating the original Live before this came out, but the speaker seems a weird, clever addition to the machine, and worth a little extra money. I like the idea of composing like you would with a...

MPC Live II availability/impressions?

I just spent a couple of weeks talking myself into ordering an MPC Live II, only to realize it appears heavily supply-constrained. Anybody know where to get one, or have one on order? I'm wondering if I ought to preorder from someplace or just bide my time. Also, if you have one, would love to hear ...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

Thanks, that's all illuminating. I think some of my frustration derives from my affection for live knob-twiddling, which preset mode doesn't like. Not sure why I was allergic to performing in edit mode, but that's obviously the solution. I do wish the documentation for IME's modules was a little mor...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

EDIT: I had a question about the preset manager, but let's just say for now that I don't understand it. :) It really is very obtuse. The way it seems to me is, there are 8 preset slots, the "P" versions are "permanent" and can't be edited without double-clicking the main button and going into edit ...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Somewhat recently I saw a reply from Igor to a comment on a facebook post saying there's a stereo Instant Lofi Junky-like effect in development for the FX Aid! :hail: Naturally I'm super stoked for this and can't wait for it to be available. Wonder when that's gonna get added to the app. :yay: This...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

Edit: Was able to apply device type after about 4 relaunches of MT Lab but now when plugged in it either says Target Device Not Found, or if I flip the Pikit, it says Invalid Device ID. Followed instructions to a T and triple checked everything. God IME could you please just put a micro usb port on...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

well ok wait, so should i be calibrating at x1 and trying to zero in on 480? or should i be calibrating at /4 and zeroing in on 120? also according to the manual, it'll go down to 30.. I did try that, and it went down to...30.1 😕 If I’m understanding this properly, though, 480 is fine...the goal is...

These desktop stands are kinda expensive, but I love ‘em—they isolate pretty well and you can put things underneath them, freeing up desk space

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I used the SHMk2 and yes, this gives you 480. It was very hard to calibrate it precisely, though; it kept drifting a few tenths of a point in each direction. Is this normal?

I love how we all bit our tongues and kept our hands off the keyboard after Shawn's email arrived yesterday 😂

I did manage to get one! Looking forward to giving it a spin.

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I tried to make a chart of the button configuration for the parameter settings. Holy moses—I had started to make one, but this is much better than mine. Thank you so much. Hey, FWIW, I am also sometimes getting loud clicks even using outboard envelopes, even very long, slow, gradual (like, >20sec) ...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Extremely impressed by how good FX Aid sounds! I would love something like a tape saturation patch. Maybe controls like input gain, tape age/tone, and wow & flutter? I'm thinking in particular about the result of running a whole patch into a three head cassette deck, recording onto and monitoring a...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I think you want too much from a module that is positioned primarily as a modulator. As an oscillator, it is positioned as lo-fi and all these glitches and noises are a feature of its sound. I really like the crackles on the Oscillators C and D. If you pass that through BP filter, you can get some ...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

I actually stole a few minutes and was able to use the osc C envelope with the intellijel uVCAii to create clickless sequences. It really does seem to have something to do with the Kermit’s VCAs and their interaction with the internal envelopes. I’m hoping Scott can smooth this out with a firmware u...

Re: Kermit mk III - coming soon

One question to other users the internal modulation (57:40): I get unpleasant digital clicks when I use internal envelope modulation of oscillator amplitude, especially in unison mode. In the video though (from 1:01 on) he sets the oscillator to unison and it sounds quite good - in my rack I have t...

I tried going down that route and found it hard work to be honest. Yep, I will second this. I still use a circadian rhythms to trigger 'unusual' percussion sounds, but in the end I ended up cramming a drum machine back into my eurorack because I missed it too much!!! So I would stick with an extern...

Re: Erica Synths Black Hole DSP 2

Hey! Well, what happened was, I tried to return it to the guy I bought it from on Reverb, but he ghosted and I was stuck with it. I still had the receipt from Perfect Circuit, where he'd bought it new, but they wouldn't take a return either. So, I ended up sending it back to Erica themselves and bou...
