Re: Is Divkid øchd the best Batumi alternative in less HP?

Ochd is one lfo with 8 outs at different divisions Batumi is four independant lfos, with rate/sync/reset inputs, can crosspatch, change waveforms (including random waveforms), has an expert firmware to allow attenuation and summing channels, etc, etc How can they even compare? They can't. They are c...

Re: MakeNoise Mimeophon

only with poor gain staging, low input level and high post amplification. with a good input level it is completely unnoticeable to me. This has been a recent realization for me, as I was trying to track and hunt sources of noise from my rack. The #1 enemy is post amplification and compressors. I ju...

If you are trying to use Batumi as an oscillator you got it all wrong.

You do that with Zadar

Re: problem with my Verbos Harmonic Oscillator

was it symmetrical top to bottom? left to right? did the trimmer adjust offset or gain? As I said I'm a noob in electronics, I was just adjusting them empirically The symmetry trimmer impacted the frequency of the module globally (maybe even the triangle and square outputs, I don't remember). On th...

Re: problem with my Verbos Harmonic Oscillator

it's really interesting. by carefully tuning the symmetry and harmonic pots I managed to get rid of most of the inharmonic buzzing in the different harmonics. Still the HO doesn't output pure sines and it's still has a lot of character to it, but it's slightly better to me now. Thanks I could also r...

Re: problem with my Verbos Harmonic Oscillator

this is probably something that can be calibrated if it is a through hole vintage buchla clone. I don't know what this thing looks like on the back side. the sines are probably tri to sin converters. getting the amplitude and offset just right before the waveshaper is important to reduce harmonics....

Re: problem with my Verbos Harmonic Oscillator

I don’t know much about the Makenoise skiff and power supply, but Makenoise is definitely responsive to email support requests. Before you go buying anything new you might check with them to understand more about their power supply. Thanks for the advice. I actually spent more time reading, especia...

Re: problem with my Verbos Harmonic Oscillator

Anyone has a good advice on what to look for when it come to a power supply for Verbos modules? Thanks A true linear power supply like the Doepfer PSU2 or a switching power supply with good linear regulation like the Doepfer PSU3 are both good choices. I personally have Doepfer PSU2 supplies poweri...

Re: problem with my Verbos Harmonic Oscillator

I do have the same issue that width past 12 o'clock is behaving strange, AND it interacts bizarrely with the sliders like on yours. But mine sounds nothing like yours, your HO does indeed sound very harsh. If I use the width parameter alone, it works fine, if I use the sliders alone, they work fine,...

Cool. Do you have a photo of your system for these? Not really interested in detailed descriptions of the patches, just to get a general idea of what you used. Sure! Left in isn't normaled to right. It even says on the panel that you have mono out.

Stereo effects only kicks in when morph is turned CW as said above

Re: Maths double triggering when using buff mult

I had the exact same issue when using a gate from the Shared System CV bus sent into Maths. It started triggering randomly at twice the expected speed (so at gate high and low). I didn't know what caused this but it turned into a happy accident where I used this to create random bursts in a track: h...

Re: Make Noise Tempi - clock divider / multiplier?

I have the same issue. m-pasting states doesn't store the states in Tempi, The save of one state is bizarre. Did you ever hear back from MN ? No they haven't replied yet. I just stopped using M-paste and do simple meshing instead. Yeah the saving of only one state surprised me. You can see in the v...

Re: Looking to create the Time Functionality of MN 0 CTRL

End of Gate output of Maths is your key. Maths in cycle mode, EoG output clocking your sequencer. Mult this clock to another CV sequencer that you will use to determine step length. CV out sent to the "Both" input of your cycling Maths channel. Fine tune cycle durations to taste e: basically the sam...

Re: Fixed Filter Banks - Long-term use, same-y results?

I very recently bought a Verbos Bark Filter and the first thing I did with it was to plug it to the output of the Morphagene to sculpt the sample loops into different results, to sound well with the rest of my track frequency-wise. Based on that first exploration I can say you shouldn't be afraid ab...

Erica Synths bassline (not the DIY one) has one that is a BBD-based emulation and gives a nice character.
