Re: Quarantined for 2 months with one synth...
Easy. I’m currently self-isolating with my Oberheim Marrix 1000 which I bought last year for 600 Canadian dollars. It’s a damn deep little synth with enough modulation options to keep me busy with interesting and complex patches for the time being. I’ve grown to really enjoy the sound after being d...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone
Prophet 600 is a great synth, no doubt, with the old classic vibe. The new Prophets are great as well, especial the P6, P12 and the Rev2. The new Pro 3 is promising. But still missing a modern P5, hope that’s on Behringer’s list - if not Uncle Dave get the brilliant idea of making a Prophet 5 (rev ...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone
:hmm: i think it might be interesting if they came out with a full keyboard version of this at some point that used the ds-80 keybed to transform this into a sort of born-again prophet-t8. cheers now that would be quite something, especially if it added the T8's split/layers as well as its poly aft...

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone
I’ve had my GliGli P600 up against a Rev 3 P5 and concluded that the P600 resonance was considerably harsher. Also the filter didn’t seem to open quite as fully as the P5, resulting in a somewhat murkier, less hi-fi sound. I actually preferred the P600 to be honest, but can totally understand that m...

Never heard of Misantropen until now, I like it! Not much in the way of Acid but maybe Abdulla Rashim? Check out Asayita, I really like that one. Also, Acronym's "River Red Gum" is similar...maybe a bit faster than what you're after though....also both associated with Northern Electronics. :D I'd r...

For me it's the Sequential Prophet 600. I'm always amazed just how darn moody & lo-fi it sounds. I swear it's alive. Followed at some distance by the unique Dreadbox Abyss and Juno 6 both of which feel like "proper" musical instruments with characterful but limited sounds married to well-designed in...

Dreadbox Antiphon DIY Kit
Hi All, https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/4325_antiphonsq_1.jpg I just got an email from Dreadbox announcing their new kit https://www.dreadbox-fx.com/product/antiphon-diy-kit/ It appears to be a simple sine-wave harmonic oscillator with a built in spring reverb. I already own a Verbos Harm...

The price is slightly high, considering I picked up a minty P600 with the GliGli mod fitted for 1600 CDN last year. That said, it's an amazing little synth and easily my favourite analog poly. EDIT: There's actually one here in Toronto for the same price that looks in great condition: Kijiji Prophet...

Nice to see and hear some love for the Harmonic Oscillator, still my favourite analog VCO and the heart of a small 9U ambient system I've been playing with a lot over the last week. I think of the VHO as a sort of mini additive synth voice the doesn't really require much filtering Lately I've been u...

If you can afford to, I strongly recommend packing the Euro away and taking a sabbatical before selling off at a hideous loss and regretting it in the future. If you can't do that, try concentrating on each module and how it interacts with its peers, and then embark on the the relaxing, zen-like jou...

A great songsmith and still can't believe it. 'Colours of spring' was the true beginning then 'Spirit of Eden' and just got better with 'Laughing Stock', what a great band with such great recordings. The solo recording i haven't heard for awhile but will be spinning soon. The pre-Colours Talk Talk ...

of course, when he went to work with Pete Namlook who knows what they used. Pete had a huge collection of gear and i'm sure a Doepfer system was part of it. I recall Pete saying that the drones on the 2350 Broadway series were just the 2 of them wiggling the EMS Synthi which he brought over with hi...

This has freaked me out somewhat. You see my father died last week and since then I’ve been listening almost nonstop to Laughing Stock and Spirit of Eden. This has freaked me out somewhat... At about 3:00pm EST I googled Mark Hollis to see what he had been up to lately only to discover his death had been reported within the last hour. Somehow the universe seems to throw up these anomalies from time to time. How odd that three of us on this thread hav...

Looks promising. I can imagine this working well as a standalone expansion to the Medusa. Hope there's a CV input to the chorus-flanger like there is in the Abyss.
