Re: SND ACME-4 Advanced Clock Management Engine
Also not impressed with the SND support for such a premium priced device with a 5 year warranty. I inquired about adding a 24ppqn clock setting to the TRS analog clk outputs so you could use an adapter cable to get an extra 2x dinsync outputs. Dude tried to sell me on buying another ACME unit.. yeah...

Re: FH-2 Firmware Feature-Requests
Is there a way to make the FH-2 Configuration Tool app (Windows) remember the MIDI Output and MIDI Input ports? Maybe by a config file in the same directory as the exe? Have to re-select the MIDI ports each time tool is launched. Also when clicking 'Send Msg' or 'Request FH-2 Version' buttons to tes...

Isn't the name envelope follower a little self explanatory Not really helpful - this line of reasoning could be applied to many technical concepts after you understand them. Aren't terms like DC offset and attenuator self explanatory? Those terms are very explanatory once you know the lingo but can...

I'm sort of understanding it a little better now. Are you clear on what an envelope is and what an envelope generator does? Those would be good topics to understand first before moving on to envelope follower. Once you get envelope generators, here's the distinction between an envelope generator an...

Are you familiar with audio compression? It's worth mentioning that an envelope follower is one of the key components used under the hood in compression. By extracting an envelope from the audio and then sending it to a VCA's gain it is possible automate volume changes based on the strength of the a...

There's multiple ways to sync all your stuff up. A dinsync splitter (which I coincidentally sell) would be useful. The splitter takes a dinsync signal and splits it to multiple outputs (same concept as a multiple in modular synthesis): https://www.seaweedsound.com/images/products/Clockblock_1_Med.jp...

For $300 a contender could be the Strymon Deco. You'd get stereo signal path and could do similar things (although I'm sure the LoFi Junky has it's own different unique flavor): - light compression/saturation from the tape algo with optional high freq roll off - chorusing via random wobble - should ...

There's a new Planar 2 firmware v1.02 on the Intellijel site. When I try to download the PC version Chrome browser says it "may be dangerous" and blocks the download. Anyone else getting that? Don't want to install virus.exe on my Planar  https://intellijel.com/downloads/firmware/Intellijel_Fi...

Sad news to hear. I used to enjoy spending hours pouring over his website catalog. I built only one Blacet module - the Time Machine analog delay behind a "Stooge" Larry panel and John's module was the crown jewel of my little MOTM DIY kit synth. The quote "pioneers like John Blacet provided a small...
