You're asking such a personal question, though. No one else can answer that for you. You're just going to get a list of product recommendations.

Clock divider into mixer == sequencer
Really any combination of changing CV—lfos, enveloped, gates, etc.—into mixer == sequencer
Changing CV into quantizer == sequencer

Re: Pulsar-23 by Soma

I've just got the email from Soma! But with the price of E1500 combined with the weak $AUD plus import taxes this is pushing the cost to a bit over $A3000. I just can't afford it now with all that's happening. I suppose I could sell one of my two synths - or a row of Eurorack gear. I feel this is o...

Re: Best randon generator for musical phrases

I challenge the notion that "random" == "musical". I've pretty tried most of the more well-known random and pseudorandom generators, including Tuesday, o_C/Hemisphere ASRs, Turing Machine, Marbles, Mimetic Digitalis, Bloom, to name a few. None of them really come close to "immediately musical", rat...

Logic and divider modules are good companions for any trigger sequencer. Endless variation to be had with those friends.

How do you implement Max control on the iPad?

Re: Beginner Sequencer Guidance

Modular sequencers are a crude and expensive way to play pre-composed melodies. That’s not their strength. Better and cheaper to do that in a daw. Modular sequencing shines at producing unexpected results.

Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

Call me lazy hehe but sometimes I just want to focus purely on sound design aspect of my patch. I'm looking for 'something' to generate cv pitch and gate/trigger. Needs to be synced to a tempo, or a division of it, or a mix of both. So I can use the outcome in my production. Cheapest and maybe a mo...

There is always the 22 Shruti harmonium which attempts to resolve the constraints of the equal-tempered western harmonium. Could be a lot of fun! But probably at the top end of what most people would be comfortable paying for a harmonium. http://www.22shruti.com/22shrutiharmonium_order.asp Indian m...

1/12 volt is a chromatic transposition, not diatonic

Re: Clocking a trigger sequencer from a looping ADSR

There are many ways to swing your clock. This one seems a bit tricky to dial in but it can work. A trigger delay will also do it. An lfo can be used too.

Re: Pulsar-23 by Soma

I co-designed it with the Moscow division as a custom accessory. It was a long wait, as there were unexpected electrical complications, but it does give me the Zendrum-like action that I was looking for to control all four loopers simultaneously with integrated, one-hand grooves. That leaves the ot...

modular does the "nuts n gum" thing extremely well with crazy modulation and stuff, it also does a damn fine vanilla too without all of that seizure inducing goodness... depends largely on your tastes I think !
If you want vanilla, there are way cheaper ways to get it.

So I get tons more playability using the accessory you can see in my photo on SoundCloud that I designed to give me the same kind of action as my Zendrum controller.
How did you make that?

Re: Need advice: Is this idea a waste of money? :)

I would add more cv, logic, and clock division. The repetitors and grids all really need cv to reach their full potential. And logic and clock dividers are so much fun to combine with gate sequencers. But I love this rack. It’s the kind of thing I would build. It looks super fun. You won’t regret it.

Modular is not conducive to time signature changes, unless—you do it Steevio-style. I would highly recommend his two tutorial videos, and the several Mylar videos based on Steevio’s thing. Basically he sets up a swinging clock as his ground. Then everything else can be varied on top of that by modul...
