Re: Eurorack shops

...and every order is always very much appreciated :tu: Since you're here, could you please get your site to remember my choice of sort order, from one page to the next? I'm in the habit of using "sort by price", but your site is one of the many that don't remember my choice, so I have to do it to ...

Re: Equation Composer module dead.

I see. The Equation Composer hardware uses the internal 12bit DAC of the MCU (same one as on the Due), and the internal ADC to read the pots, so an Arduino Due clone, plus the power on reset fix (I used an external resistor and capacitor), plus a few op amps and resistors, pretty much covers it. If ...

Re: Equation Composer module dead.

so you turned the equation composer into braids? I thought braids was coded in C for arm? Well, someone else did. I only made a few tweaks to the user interface. There was a link, and maybe some notes about it on the mfrs website, at the time. Personally, I found that more interesting than the orig...

Re: Equation Composer module dead.

Yes, I know that feeling. In case you ever decide to do it, and want to run the BraidsComposer code, I've attached the official source downloads I have. They're for Arduino, but it would be easy enough to port it to a different C++ implementation. You're welcome to my modified version and notes if y...

Re: Equation Composer module dead.

I haven't looked into STM32Cube. I probably should have done. I went with Arduino because I'm familiar with it, but I agree with you on the libraries. For anything where performance is important, they're mostly a non-starter. It's hard to work out how much time they're taking to do anything too, as ...

Re: Equation Composer module dead.

where did you find schematics? I take it you mean the ones for the module, not for the Arduino Due? They were on microbemodular.com, at the time, but that website is now dead. I've attached the main downloads, one of which has the schematics. I also have some saved web pages from the documentation ...

Re: Eurorack shops

I finally got my package from Division 6... The rest was just the mail taking forever, and that I never got the email answered, no tracking number or anything. :despair: I'm glad to hear you got it. I suppose it's possible their email address, or a server it goes through, has been blacklisted. Not ...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

But I think that the filter is unbearable on this one, causing a lot of unpleasant screeching when cranked to hi resonance ... By default, the filter is overdriven. It sounds better if you reduce the signal level going into it. Have you tried patching an attenuator between the oscillators (e.g. Osc...

Re: Eurorack shops

Does anyone know what's going on with Scott Rise, a.k.a. Division6? Have you tried antisocial media? I don't use either of these, myself, or really understand what you're supposed to do with them, but it seems like a small business owner probably would: https://en-gb.facebook.com/scott.rise https:/...

Re: KORG to Remake ARP Odyssey

I don't know, smithjohn, but I'd be inclined to put a small Schottky diode between the two. They can drop as little as 0.2V, depending on the type you get, and you really aren't likely to miss that, as a fraction of the full 10V range. I made up a 2HP panel with some fixed passive attenuators and a ...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

That looks good, latrohexus. Yes, the output safety resistor is mostly for when the pot is turned all the way up, which connects the input socket directly to the output socket, otherwise. If the normal pin of the output socket is grounded, you then have a short to ground, via the wiper of the pot. O...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

Agreed, Mark. I'd go with that solution, personally. I found a common size of UK double mains socket back plate (open fronted metal box) fits onto the two bolts, holding on the right end cheek, so mine has one of those permanently attached, with a piece of cardboard from a bar of chocolate, used as ...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

Would it be possible to cut the normalled connections? You probably can, by cutting tracks close to the sockets, but you'd need to look out for tracks that go to the normal pin of a socket, then go somewhere else. I've cut around the normal pins on a couple of Yomo attenuators, because I didn't wan...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

You're welcome, latrohexus. My guess is you didn't damage it, but ENV1 and ENV2 have different circuits. Unfortunately, there are no schematics to refer to that I'm aware of. The bare diode would not be much different to shorting the output to ground, but they seem to have allowed for that, or there...

Re: Neutron The New Behringer Semi-Modular Synthesizer

latrohexus, have you put a resistor in series with the LED? If not, you are clamping the output to around 1.5V-1.7V, which is the Vf of the LED. It should be like this: Out -> Current limiting resistor -> LED Not Out -> LED - that would be limiting the current only by the presence of a safety resist...

Re: Tendrils - right angle slimline patch cables

I see, kwaidan. No, there doesn't seem to be any danger of that happening. I probably will buy some more patch leads in the near future, but I may well end up getting them from ExcelValley again, by the look of things. Rainbow cables are a normal thing in hobby electronics too - they make it a lot e...

Re: Tendrils - right angle slimline patch cables

Please, no mixed packs! A system looks cleaner and is easier to use with one color of patch cables. Too many colors create a camouflage mesh. Are you suggesting that mixed packs shouldn't be made because you disapprove of them? I don't follow. They wouldn't replace what you buy, they would be in ad...

Re: existential crisis in eurorack

Me too. I started with a Doepfer A-190-2 MIDI -> CV interface... which is buggy and will probably never get a firmware update, but never mind. I got that to use with my MiniBrute, to add velocity filter control. Then I got the Doepfer Precision Adder, to do some CV mixing as well... then the Doepfer...
