Re: Pit Modular Case & Knurlies

From Pittsburgh re: the Structure cases and Knurlies: Knurlies are metric and will not fit in the 420, which takes 440, 1/4" screws.

The Structure 344 is our only case that accepts metric screws.

Re: Pit Modular Case & Knurlies

I have the EP 420 and my 2.5 Knurlies do NOT work very well: I don't know if the nuts are too deep in the rail or what but I have a very difficult time getting them to catch. In fact, even with washers and the screws that came w/ the EP 420, those don't work either, can't catch the nut. It's frustra...

Lyburnum: Black waters over blue

Just wanted to announce the release of my new record on Bandcamp/Spotify/etc. It's a slow burn, mostly modular, sometimes not, a moody thing I guess. I hope you like it. https://lyburnum-music.bandcamp.com/album/black-waters-over-blue https://open.spotify.com/album/5CDk1genaR1gFWex3nKV4Q?si=ngGVHsmP...

Re: puzzling out a solution w/ Magneto modulation?

Interesting tips, I will try them out! I ended up using gates from steps 15 and 16 of a 16-step sequence, so it's only on for that 15th step and then turned off by the 16th.

puzzling out a solution w/ Magneto modulation?

When you send a 5v edge to Magneto's Shift input, it toggles the pitch shift mode. It's nice, but I want to turn it on and off briefly, not for the duration for the square I'm currently using to toggle it. Any ideas? I have MATHS, a Disting, and some other EGs, etc. but, if I am articulating this we...

dumb Q: power strip and electrical interference?

I was going nuts with some interference/ground hum/whatever with my rackmount audio interface, traced it down to the power ship I had mounted inside the same rack. Turned that off, noise went away. Why would a power strip sitting in the rack cause interference?

Novation Summit owners...

Tell me how you've liked it. I've been super tempted since day one but I see issues about the rotary encoders, and now people are posting pictures of uneven keybeds. A little concerning, especially at the $2K USD price point.

Appreciate your stories, thanks.

Studio org & keyboard A-frame stands?

Hey guys, total n00b here, help me out. I have too many little desktop modules now, my desk is overwhelmed and cluttered. I want to move things to a keyboard stand (along with a fully keyed synth I do have), and was looking at these A-frame style stands: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AFram...

Pedal board on some kind of stand?

I use my pedal board (pedaltrain metro 24) with my hands not my feet (synths, etc) and I'm wondering if anyone has any clever ideas for mounting the pedal board like on music stands, etc--- curious what you got.

Audio line out into iPhone mic

Having trouble getting my iPhone to allow line in audio, any tips? I bought a TRRS adapter for 3.5mm out to TRRS into iPhone as some folks said it might make the iPhone recognize it as a mic device: no go.

What am I missing?

whats the purpose of the CV attenuverter at the CV input? Is it to constrain random cv to a certain range of root notes or something else? Why not just have the CV input unaffected so a C1 / E1 / sequence plays C1 / E1 root notes? Why the need for the fiddliness of having to adjust a very small min...

I think I understand your problem as I have both modules and have tried sending a quantised pitch sequence from the Elo into the harmonaig with the same scale settings. Playing with the incoming cv attenuator gets close ( roughly 3 o’clock ) but I struggle to hit the corresponding notes across a sc...

Do I have a broken Harmonaig? Am I an idiot?

Having a tough time feeling like I am using this module correctly, or perhaps I have a defective unit (I bought it used). I have an Eloquencer with a pattern going: C1 on the first step, E1 on the 8th, 16 step pattern. Eloquencer is set to chromatic C scale. Harmonaig is set to manual chord quality,...

Strymon Magnetos's loop mode

Tell me your approaches. Lately I've clocked the tap with a synced LFO, which gets me some loop size of x2 or x4 or whatever, then unplugged the square and let that quantified loop just absorb the voice...

Kind of curious how much you use the loop mode and how you plug it in to your setup.

So attached is a photo of my current setup. I'm trying to figure out how to end up with nothing on my desk but the iMac, the monitors, and maybe the KeyStep. I'm wondering what kind of things I can think about to get that 12U stand I have + the Abyss, and the pedal board all off the desk but still i...

Mixers & adders, understanding Planar (or another mixer?

I own a Planar 1. I notice when I add additional audio tracks (or remove them) into the inputs, the overall volume is noticeably adjusted. I am guessing this is because maybe it's adding CV and not necessarily mixing them? I am thinking this kind of makes Planar not a great fit for audio mixing. Am ...

Why can't I record a guitar tone for shit?

Help me out. So my playing is what it is, not great, but for the life of me, every time I try to record guitar, the tone just sounds weak af, and lifeless. I have a modular w/ a Pico input. I have a pedal board w/ a Strymon Flint and other delectables. I have a Clarett 4pre, a DI box, all kinds of s...

i am wondering if anyone can give me honest opinions on this after having used it for a long time. Some questions: 1) has it felt limited relative to its price ta...
