es-5 SW problems

I looked around and couldn't find the solution. tried lot's of troubleshooting but i'm stumped. i have an es-5 connected to an es-3. ES-3 works fine w/silent way. no issues. works as expected. But I can't figure out how to get gates properly to the es-5. I had it working a long time ago but went bac...

Re: Autechre

SIGN is nice and kinda heavy in some ways. it's deep and resonant. In this NYT piece https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/13/arts/music/autechre-sign-interview.html Sean Booth says: It’s strangely jarring. It’s sort of too real. All this Covid stuff has put me in a really different place from where I wa...

Re: Autechre

SIGN - their best release in years. love it  I hav mixed feeling about this comment. NTS/ELSEQ was the best thing since Confield in my humble opinion. I will wait for the LP to arrive in Canada before hearing it. lols.. people and their favorite ae release is always polarizing. i love it all...

Re: Autechre - recreate on Eurorack?

Check out "traditional synthesizer music" by venetian snares. It's all eurorack actually no it isn't. his modular is a lot of modules made by a friend of his. also lot's of drums are from an elektron Machinedrum. he performs all the songs live and does multiple takes to get the good ones. he's got ...

Re: Autechre - recreate on Eurorack?

Theyve pushed back on the idea of their patches in hardware. But id love for their reverb to be ported to a unit. they've built some incredible reverbs! all over NTS and el-seq and exai.. it's incredible to listen to on a decent system in a good space or some nice headphones. the reverbs are so tex...

Re: Autechre - recreate on Eurorack?

Heh, I got a Juno 106 and an R70 because I read that is what a lot of Amber was made with. I never sounded like Autechre either, and in some ways I also never sounded as good as I did when I had those two pieces of gear. Yeah there's something about having just a couple machines you know inside and...

Oh, and I forgot to mention the Maleko Gargoyles modules: Anti, Uncle and the white and black knobbed LPG's .... seriously have their own character! the Richter versions are identical except for the panel and minor changes to fix a couple gremlins. a push button instead of the push/pull knob for LF...

sputnik modular stuff. He’s moved on to different/better things but I kinda wish he was still around since I really liked his take on buchla over the verbose ones. Huh? Has that been officially confirmed? I was told a while back by one of the US distributors that he was rebooting with a Mk2 line of...

Re: Which online backup service for large Media data ?

does it have to be online? you get your own NAS set up. a bit of an investment but long term is worth it. not complicated to set up and you can expand it if needed. can also set up as RAID so redundant back up and it's in your house so there's that. so it's fast because it works at the speed of your...

it's a sequencer.. you can program it to be whatever you want. there's lot's of randomness, probability, stutters, etc etc. it's very flexible but it's up to the user to direct it.

Percussa SSP? Haven’t owned one but looks great. https://www.percussa.com/ Percussa SSP probably the most accurate answer to this question that doesn't require a computer. it is a modular in a box with lot's of power and endless abilities. also as mentioned the ER-301 s a modular in a module. very ...

the only thing these modules have in common is that they are delays. otherwise they are totally different in every way. the tone, interface, workflow etc are all so opposite.
