Re: What connectors
Depends on how you choose to connect to it. You could just solder to the pcb, omit the part but then you would have to desolder to remove it. So your illustration looks sort of like a screw terminal but I've never done it that way. https://www.taydaelectronics.com/dg128-screw-terminal-block-3-positi...

Re: Behringer Wasp Clone incoming
Where exactly is the definitive double trigger fix documented on the net. I was over at Gearslutz and I'm seeing two different mods that were photographed and a third that was just written down... which wouldn't be a problem if they all worked 100%, but then I read someone talking about hearing popp...

Re: EML 101 users:post your tips, patches, mods, famous hands/records.
My understanding is the variable waveshape is done by crossfade mixing waves with a center tapped pot - you could mod to get the different waves out individually at the same time. Same with the filter, afaik it's mixing the filter modes not doing some sort of morph. So that sort of combining isn't d...

(Solved) +5 converter on a Tiptop uZeus
Someone threw in a uZeus as part of a deal but someone at some point snapped off the +5v converter (marked U2 on the PCB)
Can someone read me the part number?
Picture shows the part I have missing
many thanks

Re: Newbie Question
the nature of audio waves, from an osc for instance, is if you near instantly start hearing them in the middle of a cycle, meaning not rising or falling from zero, you get a click in your audio. The click can change in volume and disruption, because in most cases the VCO is free-running, the more am...

Re: Frequency Shifter
Doepfer had a Eurorack Frequency Shifter once. I really regret selling it around 20 years ago. I think a lot of people complained it's lowest frequency was like 5hz or something and imperfect but cheap. Around when RoHS was became law it was discontinued from what I recall. I have one and was meani...

Blacet Panel Paint Lifting
The white lettering starts to peel. Please steer me to a thread if there already is one. Fortunately this doesn't happen often but it happened to one of my modules years ago and I see one that's just starting. Has anyone experienced it and solved it other than a new panel or rescreening, or living w...

Re: Behringer System 55
Have some vocoders but was interested for years in Wendy Carlos' use of the pair of modded Fixed Filter Banks, 10x 902, 10x 912. But of course the 912 was I presume not found in the System 55 so it was not issued by Behringer. Just an observation. I know no one is saying the Verbos HO is the same as...

Re: What is linear FM good for?
People use linear FM to create whole ranges of waveforms other than the outputs on a typical VCO or what one would get by filtering one. That said they aren't necessarily exciting sitting there or even being sequenced. The thing that makes them interesting is the frequency and amplitude of modulatio...

Re: Behringer Roland System 100M clone
hi guys - slightly odd question - how are the pcbs mounted to the panels? i cant tell if the jacks just poke through the panel holes or actually latch through them, or if there are pot nuts (doesnt seem to be enough large pots on most of these panels to do that either though), and there dont appear...

Re: Behringer System 55
I'm sure I could just try it and see what happens, but what I was wondering is say I lift the legs on an A50K and run a lead from pot pin 1 to pcb 3 and 3 to 1, would I indeed functionally have a C50K functionally? update: Finding the C taper curve graph just now I think I would not, it's a differen...

Re: Frequency Shifter
A frequency shifter works by further processing a ring modulator (actually uses two in parallel). A ring modulator produces the combined sum and difference of two frequencies going in. This includes all the harmonic frequencies in the signal. The further processing of the frequency shifter separates...

Anyone know a preferably US source of a better than Beheringer 9mm D Shaft C50K pot?
Also, curious if I could take an A50K and wire pins 1 & 3 reversed ?
Thanks!

Re: How many OSC/Voices is too many.
ummm the obvious answer is if you don't use X number of them then you have that number too many. Tomita used 36 similar ones at the same time on his later analog recordings. I couldn't imagine using 36 voices in a single patch, that would give me a headache trying to keep up. I wired up almost all ...

Re: How to use Behringer 173 Quad Gate/Multiples
Don't have one but it's meant to be a voltage controlled switch. The invert gate seems to be poorly labeled, pretty sure it's an in. When the switch is on it passes whatever is in the "in" to the out. Looks like more that +3v to non inverting gate passes the in voltage, less disables it. Looks like ...

Re: Envelope Generators
I find there are a different set of criteria if you are triggering manually (playing yourself) vs Sequencing vs self running patches. It's not like you can't choose a module that will function for all 3, but choices will be an advantage to one and not so much another. When someone says they like a m...

Re: Resonant Equalizers
Every parametric EQ I've encountered are variable frequency and bandwidth. They can cut or amplify. Serge has fixed frequencies, I understand it's the nature of resonance that the bandwidth narrows and amplitude raised as it's fed back. Something like a Moog fixed filter are band pass filters with a...

Don't think I've encountered a DUSG off the shelf in Buchla format. I guess it would have to navigate higher audio levels audio and cv mixed in the same space rather than to each their own space. On the power side, a good portion of cloned Serge are CGS (now sold by Elby) pcbs can be used directly o...

Re: Running CV through reverb ?
you have to remember CV is control rather than audio per se, but audio can be used as CV so one has to think in those instances are you going to get a change that you can use if using audio. I don't think anyone mentioned some sort of intermediate method of encoding and recovering CV. I mean it's a ...

Re: how do i do sequenced noise
agree with what is said, sequence a bandpass filter, that may be enough, but adjusting resonance will push things closer to a pitch until the filter self oscillates, at that point you have a sine in your noise for better or worse. Some bandpasses have adjustable width aside from resonance. resonance...
