Re: Ornament + Crime

Thanks I figured it out you need to have both the att reset and dec reset on none. I can totally see where people are turned off by menus that said this is still one of my favorite modules of all time it’s so flexible. I have two and I’m usually using both! You need an envelope it has four, sequence...

Using Piqued is there a setting that waits for the envelope to finish before an input will trigger it again?

Re: Why is the Mother 32 so expensive?

Hand made by people earning a living wage. It is not like anyone at Moog is making the fortunes of the "tech giants." Basic problem we seem to have is that we do not want to pay for something so that our neighbors can earn a living. Obviously, if everyone in the US bought one of these, the price co...

Re: Why is the Mother 32 so expensive?

If you look, you’ll find this trend across almost all used gear on reverb and it’s clearly a result of Covid. A few theories, and it’s probably some combination of: 1. People got stimulus money and have been buying gear so the used supply is much smaller 2. Many people are unwilling to go ship thin...

Re: Why is the Mother 32 so expensive?

If they go for $650 new $600 used is expensive to me any. Take a look at the historical price graph on Reverb. The chart shows the price from May last year. Used the selling price is around $440. Then in April this year the prices just go up. This could be related to COVID-19. There seems to be only...

Why is the Mother 32 so expensive?

I had been watching prices on these for the last few months and lately they have just gone straight up. You would see these in the low $400 and now they are all over $600 on Reverb.

Re: Why Suzanne Ciani hates Eurorack? (Or how I learned to stop worrying and love my performance modules)

For what is worth, I think that Eurorack is fantastic with its variety of modules, rebirth of some old designs and some totally new inspiring stuff. As per interface, it also matters what resonate with you. Some people want immediacy and clear layouts, but some people like to dive into modules, or ...

Re: Why Suzanne Ciani hates Eurorack? (Or how I learned to stop worrying and love my performance modules)

She’s right, especially from the perspective of someone who spent decades using an integrated system designed by single person with a strong sense of how things should work. She’s using the Apple of synths. The rest of us like modules from different makers, and combine them together, and each of tho...

Re: Pit Modular Case & Knurlies

I have a Pittsburgh 208 and I took out the sliding nuts and put threaded strips in. I also bought knurlies. It was not hard to do. I bought the threaded strips from Digikey which were 84hp in length. I had to buy three and cut some short strips to fill out the rest of the space. I had to get knurlie...

Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

I’m a fan of Byte Beats. Usually audio rate glitchy 8 bit sounds they make good semi random CV sources. Two o_C is a randomized and quantizing force. You could get two at 8hp and have quantizing randomizing computer in 16hp. Tinrs Tuesday is pretty neat but might sound a little too musical if you’re...

Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

Ornament and Crime has so many random options and most are quantized. It’s like four quantized Turing machines, or Euclidean, integer sequences, or byte beat, and there’s the sequencer when you’re not feeling so random. There’s a few modes that generate random chord sequences. There’s too many optio...

Re: Oscillator for "organic" instrument

Digital vs analog is a non issue for me. I’m more interested in sounds and options. The digital oscillators are some of my favorites because they have so many options. Braids is amazingly versatile and you get the built in VCA and Quantizer. Hard to reproduce this as an analog module at the same siz...

Re: Buy Maths, just buy Maths

I think Maths is great. I have wondered why it can’t be smaller. As I think about it it does have many jacks and knobs. You could probably make it a little smaller but not a whole lot smaller without hurting usage.

This post makes no opinion on whether you should buy Maths or not.

That first video didn’t use a resistor. i thought you’d need a resistor to limit current or you’d burn out the LED? You could have +/-5vto +/-10v Running through the LED. What am I missing? Some LEDs have a built in resistor but that wasn’t mentioned here.

Yes, it's as easy as connecting each jumper cable from one pin to another. I followed the pictures on Pusherman's website ...

The depth isn’t a problem though I do have a module that doesn’t fit. Here’s a question: I have the Stereo Line Out,...
