I don't find module proximity affects my patching much, I will definitely go right across the case with my longest cable if it serves my purposes, BUT I have noticed there is significant inertia to overcome for me to patch between cases. I've got a rather large case in the works which I know will so...

The aux effect thing is definitely not ideal.

In playing with it I got thinking of "thrust" as the "flavor of the kit" knob. More individual sound params would always be great but I imagine that's the tradeoff they had to make with a thing that's already 30hp.

Also, "flaps" knob = resonance!

I love Eloquencer with it. Blck_Noir has 7 sounds to trigger plus the clock input for live fills and the internal S&H, and then 13 sound parameters, so there's potential to throw loooots of CV at it.

Endorphin.es kindly sent me a pre-release unit a couple weeks ago - I've just posted a full walkthrough video with sound examples here for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPv0675RKUA

When you reach the end of music - noise. There really is no other direction to go except towards something more 'traditional' Rings true for me. I shed every musical "rule" I could conceive of and went super far into noise in my early twenties. Ended up bringing me around to embrace Western harmony...

If I have something specific in mind I'll enter it in with Keystep, or a module like O&C (or more recently Hermod!) but I generally do more of that kind of writing in Ableton. I've been a fan of getting quantized random CV out of Varigate 8, or for stuff that can evolve more I send S&H's and LFO's t...

Zlob VnIcursal needs mad love for being 6 VCAs with individual and sum outputs in 8hp.

Also Simon the Magpie sent me a module he made with a doorstopper that you wiggle to generate CV. Haven't seen that anywhere else. :D

For me it's a mindset thing - taking the engineer hat on and off. I don't think the level of fun and flow we get from creating music can be expected to the same degree in recording, which is a more technical endeavor that people literally used to wear lab coats for. If I have to deal with a technica...

The idea of being able to turn some modules into standalone units is pretty cool, and easier than encouraging a ton of manufacturers to make standalone versions. Ergonomics gets my +1 and I could also see it having appeal for gigging/travel, or folks not yet ready to go full modular but who really l...

Wanted to bump this because I just picked one up, Keven seems like a solid dude, and the module is awesome! 6 VCAs with a summed output in 8hp is ridiculous, and there's a nice amount of gain on each channel - seriously surprised I don't see this little guy in more rigs.

While I’m glad this thread is losing its legs I’ve decided to chime in, because it’s far from the last time I’ll be making Eurorack content, so maybe for anyone who cares to hear where I’m coming from this will help prevent some of the same arguments from surfacing over and over. You can get great boom bap with the Mutant Drums series. Qu-Bit Tri-ger would let you finger drum nicely. And Stereo Triggered Sampler or ER-301 would be great on sample duty - I've even seen a vinyl crackle emulator floating around on the latter. :)

Does this type of switch exist?

I was daydreaming about a patch idea with a sequential switch and then realized it wouldn't work at all like I wanted. I'm hoping to send, say, 8 different drum sounds to 8 different effects, but CV them to swap which effects they're being sent to. Are there any switches that could swap 8 inputs bet...

I'll second the Varigate 8+, I love it for drum sequencing. I'm not seeing any talk about snares?! You can make neat ones with Basimilus but a dedicated module could be useful, Mutant's pretty great and clearly you're on board with Hexinverter!

Hey thanks for the support, folks! I've become rather obsessed with moduar, and have found the community around it to be super encouraging - noticeably more so than what I've found surrounding, say, guitars, or Ableton, or dubstep. (I've seen the drama as well of course...seems inevitable anywhere.....
