Logic and divider modules are good companions for any trigger sequencer. Endless variation to be had with those friends.
Totally! I am using MIDI <-> CLK as a divder, as well as Branches. Adds a lot of versatility!

my main issue is that I don’t have any sends.
The WORNG LRMSMSLR is a stereo send and return that doesn't use up a lot of hp, or Dollars.

Re: How to choose/get your gear? A general retrospective.

Welcome! Once I got past one voice, I pretty much followed my muse and picked up modules that seemed interesting. Fortunately for me, most of those modules are utilities, because I find myself using some them in virtually every patch. It helps speed things up when you have what you need to hand, alt...

Re: Euclidean Circles users, what do you pair it with?

I share one LFO squarewave clock with every trigger sequencer and use a dotcom gate math and pam's to break up the clock for each sequencer. euclidean works GREAT in different math'd clocks with other sequencers - particularly much faster or much slower than other clocked sequences. It syncs beauti...

Re: Euclidean Circles users, what do you pair it with?

I’ve started working on a generative patch using Euclidean Circles to clock sequencers with each pulse moving them one step. Using multiple voices this way creates evolving counter melodies that weave between unison and harmony. Randomness can be added by using a Turning Machine, Branches, and burst...

Re: Collaborative video/audio live streaming?

For Audiomovers? It's a plugin that you put at the end of your DAW's chain, on the 2-bus. It creates a URL that the client uses to listen. There is also a listen plugin. It's very intuitive to use.

Along this, do you guys keep your rack powered all the time or do you switch it off between sessions?? Is there any reason to switch it off other than to keep the electricity bill lower? :p
Heat.

Re: tips on authentic 80's pop production

1980s style production uses a lot of delay and reverbs, often two or more reverbs stacked up. Don’t be afraid to track with reverb and delay, the layered tracks will sound different than using a single reverb for everything. You will also want to experiment with chorus effects. Will you have vocals?...

A DAW takes care of things like that. Old tracks go to master and to speakers / headphones, and the new incoming tracks do the same as long as live monitoring enabled on their respective channels.
This, plus most DAWs have latency compensation so everything is in sync.

Re: How long do you stay patched?

I keep the patch up until my current project is complete, so 2-6 months on average. I don’t use my modular as a single voice, but as several melodic voices connected to a sequencer, so some modules (Tiptop Audio drums) stay patched at all times.

By the way, I remind Studio Electronics Quadnic is 4 voice module. With 64 waveforms... What do you think about it? For polyphony and chords... I have the Quadnic, it’s a great module. The only downside is that you have to tune it every time you turn it on, but it works really well, is versatile, a...

Re: Please have a listen and tell me if I’m on the right track

Sweet instrumental! When I'm listening I don't hear any focus. It sounds like each instrument has equal weight in the mix. At 1.06 I want to hear that guitar (too wide) or arp leading, but not both. At 1.50 I want to hear those sweet 80's synth chords cut through the mix. At 2.11, let the guitar le...

Re: Analysing the Guitars on This Soundtrack

Definitely multi tracked guitar parts. For the first half, it sounds like the right guitar is set 100% wet and the left guitar is much drier, but you can still hear the stereo slap on it pinging to the right side. They are also EQ'd differently (or perhaps different guitars were used), the gain stru...
