Re: BIA analog alternatives?

A pinged filter... FMed with noise... With wave folding...

Not sure if that's available as a single voice module, but it is modular.

Re: Case Dilemmas

I think trying to arrive at a finished article is like trying to nail water to a door. My take on it is that it's only "finished" for as long as a patch or two, or until I have another idea that involves swapping a few things out. "Finally finished my case," is a LOL moment. I agree that there's no...

I know you spend a lot of time planning and executing a patch, so why not take a patch-centred approach? ... If you have a large selection of modules you can decant those that are relevant to the job in hand to a smaller, patch-focused case. Actually, that's what I've been doing. My "smaller, patch...

"Another method to produce chaotic sounds is to feed the output of a squarewave oscillator into a lowpass filter and feed the output of the lowpass filter back into a LinFM modulation input of the oscillator. If a LinFM input is not available a pitch control input can be used as well. Without filter...

Re: The pain of getting brutal with your rack ...

All the cool kids are doing it. 8-) Or at least it's always going on, and it only takes someone to mention it for us all to come out of the woodwork. I've been rocking a couple of smaller cases for a few months now (a Mantis and an 84hp tinicase I made myself). The difference is I've no intention of...

Man, this thing is a one-module choke point. But what a joy! I've riffed on RLK's slewed random addressing patch , but with only four voices. They're mixed in Frames, which is addressed the same way with a different S&H. This has the effect of thinning out the voices even more, and adding more dyna...

Also watch out for Brexit. I know a few UK retailers are suspending shipments to the EU until they can work out WTF is going on. Worth checking whether the same pertains in the other direction.

Edit: Just re-read "quite new". Patch EOR and EOC into channels two and three and tap any of the three mix outputs. Cycle one and two and adjust to taste. If you can't attenuate channels one and two enough that you can still hear their influence then patch a dummy cable into each of their attenuate...

Anything is fair game in my house except shimmer reverb. I wonder what Eno and Lanois think of the sound in which they invested so much creativity being reduced to an overused preset.

Re: Stacking pulse LFOs

To paraphrase an old project management truism: small, fully-featured, playable - pick any two. You could do it with Maths quite easily if you only needed two pulses. It would even give you three variations of the output. Edit: Just re-read "quite new". Patch EOR and EOC into channels two and three ...

Two modules, but a Disting and a Cinnamon filter would give you a nice little second voice with TZFM possibilities.

If you want something that more closely fits your use case you'll have to tell us what that is. So, being a relatively newcomer to modular, I only recently learned about Krell patches... so I made 3 of them in one day... They are pretty much what you'd expect from a Krell Patch. Which is to say, I had a lot of fun playing around with this concept! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbqIHM1smhQ I...
