Re: Broadcast

Good band but not comparable to Stereolab in any way. Unless you want to say Broadcast has ripped their entire sound off of Stereolab and tries to be creative with little Atari noises cut out in the mixes so they can feel creative or vindicated :) right and stereolab didnt cop entirely from Neu and...

Re: Fugazi

Coricky is like fugazi lite sort of.

definitely the most underrated guitar terror band. sonic young gets all this attention and has like 4o different tunings and every pedal and couldnt match the roar i heard at some fugazi shows, from those 2 guitars and maybe an overdrive, maybe

best band

208 motherbord on a cardboard panel will break in pieces putting cards in and out no doubt. the connectors are fierce

Re: Front Panel Proof Reading Thread

That panel looks great BUT not getting both random outs from the digital noise is a HUGE mistake. Go for the second jack and put the LEDS off grid to the right a bit and above, sort of how you have them in the divider.

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

My first build from gerbers using eagle to figure out what I needed and where it went. Also my first panel design / manufacture, both from JLCPCB. It's a forestcaver SMD Benjolin. Got the labeling mixed up on the SQR/TRI outputs and would back the copper layer off a little bit under the mask next t...

Re: Another WAD with problems- no sound from any output

Its shocking to me that STS still daisy chains the power.
I know the PCBs were designed that way but it would take almost nothing to separate sections into a pluggable distro.

Good luck tho, it will come back! WAD is scary to work on.

They were nearly impossible to find when I made mine 10 years ago, and the ones i got were badly pulled. Mother Hubbards cupboard of rare parts has to be getting thin. Wishing you good luck.

Re: New approaches in Buchla format DIY

My little clone system uses MTA156 connectors and normal 1/8" audio jacks instead of tini-jax. So I'm probably going to be tarred and feathered (sorry- i had to) for it, but it works for me :) The system I built for my pal I used mini jacks instead of tinys. It was never going to mix with 'real' bu...

Re: TR-808 vertically

I had my 808 on the wall for a couple years and it is great, might do it again.
I just put a screw in the wall above and below each wire and lashed it down with bailing wire on each side.
yeah that sounds crazy but nothing could bring it down by accident.

Finding a clone substandard to 200e is sort of funny to me. In my limited exposure to 200e I find well built clones physically superior.

Re: Fess up, who is behind this XENOMORPH?

I would say lets hope its significantly lower than original price. No way will i spend $4000 on PCBs and parts, Should come in closer to $2000 or less.

7 PCBs including PSU that required no major R&D beyond close examination + panel. I think $1200 or so is fair.

Re: Buchla DIY for a first timer

strictly my opinion but I think it would be a terrible place to begin .a disconnect between PCB and panel suppliers. PCBs are sort of in limbo atm. SAModular seems to be on the way to producing many of the 200s, both panels and PCBs ..acquiring parts from many sources, no single dump out the bag opt...
